SHOW PROOF: AOC taunts her Republican colleagues with a very simple question

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) mercilessly taunted some of her Republican congressional colleagues during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union this morning with a proposal that some of the most vocal Trump-supporters in the GOP caucus answer a simple question. In the wake of revelations during Thursday evening’s televised hearings from the House Select Committee on the January 6th insurrection, CNN host Dana Bash asked AOC, as the New York City congresswoman is often called, about reports that several Republican representatives had surreptitiously sought pardons from Donald Trump after the Capitol riots.

“Vice-Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) revealed multiple members of Congress asked for presidential pardons after January 6th,” Bash told Ocasio-Cortez. “You went on Twitter and directly asked Republican Congressman Gaetz, Boebert and Greene if they were the ones who asked for pardons. Do you have a reason to believe that they were?”

The progressive firebrand was quick to point to Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) as behaving particularly suspiciously while the incursion of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and deranged MAGA-followers was taking place on Capitol Hill.

“Well, we do know that Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, in the middle of all of that footage that we saw yesterday of all of those people coming into the Capitol, was actively tweeting the speaker’s location, was tweeting really provocative statements like ‘Today is 1776’,” she explained. “And it very much indicates a side here.”

Having established where Boebert’s sympathies were situated, AOC demanded that all her GOP colleagues reveal any post-insurrection petitions for White House pardons that they may have requested, or, more likely, begged for.

“When you don’t know which of your colleagues were part of a possible conspiracy, then we need to find out and, frankly, from a lot of the behavior we have seen both in committee, inside the workings of the House, I believe that every member of Congress should be able to answer that question,” the Bronx-born congresswoman continued. “I’m happy to answer this question. I know that Representative Gerry Conley (D-VA), we are more than willing to offer we did not seek a pardon from the White House either before or after January 6th or, frankly, at any point in time.”

“I believe it’s a very simple question that every single member of Congress should be able to answer,” Ocasio-Cortez clearly explained.

While it’s unlikely that Reps. Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), or Matt Gaetz (R-FL) — not to mention Congressmen Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Mo Brooks (R-AL) — will voluntarily disclose any requests that they made, the House Select Committee has already announced that they have hard evidence of requests from other Republican lawmakers who sought pardons in addition to the one that they’ve already revealed, Representative Scott Perry (R-PA).

Congressman Perry has vehemently denied having asked for a pardon from Trump, but the Committee is likely to counter his denials with proof from the testimony of White House aides in the days ahead as the televised hearings resume tomorrow.
