EVICTED! Lauren Boebert's failing restaurant gets more bad news

Cannabis dispensary owners, Mike Miliken and Dan Meskin put Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) on notice that the lease on her gun-themed restaurant Shooters Grill — which operates in a building that they recently purchased —  won’t be renewed. According to The Daily Beast, Boebert’s now claiming that the news is “rank misinformation.”

Bizapedia shows Miliken Enterprises — the LLC the pair formed to buy the building from its previous owner — was formed on May 9th. On May 26th, two days after the Uvalde massacre, the transfer of deed went through – and the same day the gun-loving Congresswoman made this non-sensical statement in a Fox News interview: “When 9/11 happened, we didn’t ban planes.”

The Building housing Shooters grill was previously owned by Dan Meskin’s father, Mike Meskin. The Daily Beast reported that the new owners planned to rent the space to another restaurant. While it’s not known if politics played a role in Miliken Enterprise’s decision not to renew Boebert’s lease, Meskin’s mother made small-dollar donations to Boebert opponents in 2020, and 2022.

Opened eight years ago by Boebert and her husband Jayson, Shooters Grill has been operating in the red for years. The restaurant had its food license suspended in 2020 for defying Colorado Governor Jared Polis’ stay-at-home coronavirus orders, The Denver Post reported.

According to a Garfield County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Jayson Boebert was arrested on January 28th, 2004 for exposing his genitals to a group of young girls — Including a minor — at a Rifle, Colorado bowling alley. The Sheriff’s report states:

“I did contact the victims Ms. Wailes and Mrs. Coombs who advised me that they were standing at the snack bar talking about each other’s tattoos. Both parties advised me that Mr. Boebert was also standing at the snack bar several feet away from them. Both parties advised me that Mr. Boebert advised them that he had a tattoo on his genitals, at which time Mr. Boebert unzipped his pants, removed his genitals exposing the shaft, covering the head of his genitals with his hand.”

Rep. Boebert’s husband denied exposing himself in the affidavit – saying he showed the girls his “thumb.” Two of the girls gave witness statements filed into the record, saying Boebert was “harassing” one of the women. When asked to leave after exposing himself, Boebert refused and became “belligerent.”

Just a few weeks later, Jayson Boebert was charged with domestic violence – pleading guilty in November 2004.

As far as Shooters goes, the firearm-promoting restaurant  – like its owners – has been plagued with scandal after scandal. The restaurant was accused of giving patrons at the Rifle Rodeo mass diarrhea from a batch of bad pork sliders. Shooters Grill lost over half a million dollars in the years leading up to Boeberts’ run for congress and incurred thousands in tax liens.

Boebert has also faced accusations of campaign finance violations for improperly using campaign funds for rent and utilities – and most recently it’s surfaced that she may have left her son in a car and fled after a crash.

It looks like the gun-loving, controversial congresswoman may have bigger problems on the horizon than her food poisoning-prone, financially insolvent restaurant losing its lease. She is up for re-election in November and even local Republicans are said to be sick of her antics and the lack of any significant legislative accomplishments.

Now, she may not have a business to fall back on if she loses her congressional seat.
