OPINION: The Right’s obsession with Hunter Biden
I’ve been a Democrat now for 3 years and have learned how conservative “media” operates. Before, when I was still a Republican, I used to believe in their obsession with Hillary Clinton’s emails, Benghazi, or President Obama’s “Obama-gate” conspiracies.
The right-wing media likes to portray the Democrats as part of this deep state globalist cabal that wants to bring a “New World Order” to the United States that would take away their rights and freedoms which would destroy the American way of life as they know it.
I see now that all of these conspiracies are simply a big distraction from what Republicans have been doing for the last 20 years or so to our country — divide and regress it back 50 years. The Right’s latest obsessive distraction is Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son.
I personally believe that their obsession with Hunter Biden is to distract Conservatives from the seriousness of the January 6th Committee hearings.
People like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and the rest of the conservative talking heads know how important these hearings are to our country’s democracy and rule of law, so they minimize them. And since President Biden is a law-abiding citizen and decent human being, they go after Hunter Biden since he’s made some mistakes in his past, and they can use them to demonize the President.
Here’s the thing, Hunter Biden is a private citizen, he’s not the President, not a politician, nor a member of the Biden administration. Hunter is a private citizen who just happens to be the son of the United States President.
Trump knew that he would lose to Biden in the 2020 election, and so he violated the Constitution with his quid pro quo phone call to the President of Ukraine. Even after Joe Biden has been President for a year and a half, the right continues to demonize Hunter Biden hoping that it could impeach President Biden and distract conservatives from the January 6th hearings.
They don’t want conservatives to see how corrupt, how vile, how dangerous Trump is, so they use Hunter Biden as a scapegoat to keep Trump safe from being shunned by the Republican Party.
Hunter Biden’s laptop is the new Hillary Clinton’s emails, and Dems should go on Fox News and start challenging these conspiracies to make conservative talking heads look foolish, and Hunter Biden can finally be at peace.
