SUBPOENA: Bill Barr called to testify in Dominion lawsuit against Trump media allies

Former Attorney General Bill Barr is the latest Trump administration official to be called to testify in the Dominion trial.

Former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr has been subpoenaed in the suit filed by the Dominion Voting Systems in their case against those who falsely claimed they were complicit in attempting to steal the 2020 election — even though no claims of voter fraud were ever substantiated.

Barr dismissed Trump’s claim that the Dominion voting machines swapped votes as “nonsense” in a video shown by the House Select Committee investigating January 6th.

“I told the it was crazy stuff and they were wasting their time on it, and they were doing a great disservice to the country. I saw absolutely zero basis for the allegations, but they were made in such a sensational way that they obviously were influencing a lot of people,” Barr told the committee.

Dominion filed a defamation suit against Fox News and other right-wing propaganda-pushing outlets for their false claims that the company was somehow involved in helping President Joe Biden “steal” the 2020 election. In their complaint, Dominion said that “Fox sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process.”

The televised Jan. 6 hearings have revealed that Trump’s inner circle knew what the American public already did – that Trump’s claims were not only baseless, but harmful.

Barr is the latest among those subpoenaed, including former Department of Homeland Security’s Chris Krebbs and Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger. Raffensperger has cooperated with both the Jan. 6 panel and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ in their investigations into Trump.

In the summer of 2021, Trump’s quack – and hack – attorneys, Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, had their attempts to have the cases filed against them by Dominion thrown out denied by the courts.

A judge also recently ruled that Dominion’s suit again Fox New‘s parent company, Fox Corp. can proceed. Barr’s rehabilitation tour — promoting his book and throwing his former boss under the bus — makes the former Attorney General even more likely to talk.
