SHUTTERED: Rep. Lauren Boebert closes failing Shooters Grill restaurant for good

The gun-themed restaurant owned by Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and her penis-flashing husband has officially closed. The Boeberts were unable to secure a new lease and were forced to shutter their business, leaving only a chalk sign in the doorway saying, “Thanks for the support. Stay Tuned #Covfefe.”

Responding to reports that the downtown Rifle, Colorado Shooters Grill – where servers sported holstered firearms while taking orders – was being evicted, Boebert said, “Well, we’re not being evicted. The lease is not being renewed – that’s a big difference.”

Back in June, the Post Independent reported that Shooters, and its owners, were told by the new landlords their lease wouldn’t be renewed. It was alleged that Boebert was considering buying the building, but that did not come to pass.

So, instead, the doors are closing.

The Boeberts’ business was plagued by financial troubles – tax liens and outstanding debts – and reportedly giving customers at the Rifle Rodeo food poisoning and bloody diarrhea from bad pork sliders, so it’s probably a good idea for everyone.

Since bursting on the scene, the QAnon conspiracy theory-spouting representative has been a constant source of controversy. Known more for her asinine tweets than for doing any actual work for her constituents – or America – Boebert may soon be facing bigger problems than her struggling restaurant closing. For instance, she faces accusations that she was part of the coup conspiracy on January 6th, evidenced by her tweeting out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s location during the insurrection.

These tweets are something that Boebert was called out for by fellow Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) in June 2022, backed up in audio shared by CNN that was captured by reporters Jonathan Martin and Alen Burns of The New York Times for their book “This Will Not Pass.”

“Beutler: Is it true that you were live tweeting, from the floor, our location to people on the outside as we were being attacked, Lauren?”

“Boebert: Um, yes those tweets did go out and that was something that was live and public information that was broadcast live from–”

“Beutler: So don’t ask us about security if you’re telling the attackers where we’re at. I yield back.”

Boebert’s attempts to claim that the location of the lawmakers was originally reported by news media outlet C-SPAN before her tweets were sent were disproved by True North Research.

The Trump-loving congresswoman was recently reported to the FBI for a tweet seen aimed at President Joe Biden that many saw as a threat. In a failed attempt at an intelligent comment on the abortion rights debate, Boebert tweeted “We need to terminate this presidency. End quote. Repeat the line.”

As far as Shooter’s Grill goes, Boebert says she hopes to reopen the failed restaurant as a coffee shop “with pastries and some easy breakfast sandwiches and merchandise.”

With all due offense, we’ll take a hard pass.
