BAIL REVOKED: Tina Peters, CO clerk who tampered with voting machines, ordered to jail

News journalist for Occupy Democrats.
A warrant has been issued for failed Colorado Secretary of State candidate, Tina Peters. The GOP candidate was indicted after tampering with voting machines used in the 2020 election and was out on bail when she violated her bond by leaving the state to speak at a Las Vegas event.
NEW: Peters, a close ally of deranged conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell, has been accused of overseeing a breach of election equipment in Colorado, went to Las Vegas this week to speak at an event. A judge said the trip violated her bond conditions https://t.co/zfIQ7OQQOW

The former Mesa County clerk was a staunch Trump supporter and “Big Lie” propagandist. A close friend of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, Peters was a key speaker at Lindell’s Cyber Symposium in August 2021 where the conspiracy-theory-pushing Trump ally claimed he would show proof of voter fraud and confirm that the election was stolen from his buddy, Trump. Neither of them managed to do that.
Colorado judge, Matthew D. Barrett, revoked Peters’ $25,000 bond and ordered her remanded to jail pending her hearing, according to The New York Times.
Shielded by the protection of running for statewide office, Peters was previously allowed to travel outside of Colorado for political reasons with court notification. After coming in third in the Republican primaries – a loss she refused to concede – Peters needed judicial approval to leave her home state. She left for Vegas just hours after the judge’s order, according to Mesa Country DA Daniel Rubenstein.

During her speech, Peters added to her previous claims that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) “encouraged” the former clerk in her efforts to copy voting machine data. She told Las Vegas attendees that the congresswoman attended a dinner that included Conan Hayes, the man to whom Peters gave access to the voting machine and who copied the data. Boebert’s former campaign manager Sherronna Bishop – who was also a speaker at Lindell’s sham symposium with Peters – attended the dinner as well.
At least three officials from the Mesa County clerk’s office have faced indictments, including election county election manager Sandra Brown. Brown turned herself in after an arrest warrant was issued for conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation and attempting to influence a public servant. Both were felonies, as reported by The Daily Sentinel.

The investigator for the Mesa County DA’s office, James Cannon, wrote in an affidavit:

“Brown conspired to misrepresent the role and identity of the person – Conan Hayes – who they intended to use, and did use, to copy the hard drive by using the identity of Gerald Wood. Brown’s actions, statements and/or inactions were a – successful – attempt to influence the public servant’s decisions and actions before and during the trusted buil through Sandra’s misrepresentations.”
Peters continues to push false claims that the election was stolen.
