UNDER THE BUS: Michael Cohen shares Trump’s playbook
On the most recent episode of The Dworkin Report podcast, former Trump fixer Michael Cohen shared his opinion on Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, whether Trump intentionally set up Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) to take the fall for Jan. 6th, and says everything is going according to Trump’s “playbook.”
It’s something Cohen would know all about after doing prison time for the ex-President.
In a strong New York accent, Cohen said:
“Let me give you a little bit out of the Trump playbook And I know the Trump playbook better than almost anyone else, because as I explained to Jimbo Jordan over there and Mark “The Moron” Meadows, I’m responsible in part for writing the playbook.”
Journalist and host Scott Dworkin asked the former attorney whether he thought Trump had an “ulterior motive” when telling Brooks to put his pardon request in writing, and Cohen didn’t hesitate to say yes.
He told Dworkin, “What Donald wanted is to have a document that he could use against Mo Brooks down the line.”

“What Trump wanted is to have a document with Mo Brooks’ signature on it that he might be able to use to throw him under the bus down the road. He can say, ‘I had nothing to do with it. Quite frankly, I don’t even know the guy. Not only do I not know him, the guy came to me looking for a pardon.”
The explosive public testimony of former senior aide Cassidy Hutchinson shed light on Trump’s temper.
While Cohen says he’s never seen Trump throw his food, he has seen him act in anger. “I can see him being that frustrated as to throw something against the wall,” he told the host. Adding:

“I will share with you that I have seen [Trump] get violent. I talk about it in my book. Where he went after Don Jr. for something as innocuous as asking “do you ever get nervous when you’re before large crowds?””
With more evidence against Trump being revealed by the select committee investigating the Capitol insurrection, many inside and outside of Trump’s circle say he’s starting to panic. With some of Hutchinson’s testimony considered hearsay, it may be difficult to pin the violence of Jan. 6 on Trump.

But as Michael Cohen knows first hand, “it’s the nail in the coffin for all these people who are tangentially related that made up his inner circle.”
