COMPELLED: A Trump-endorsed House Republican just got grand jury papers in Georgia

Fulton County District Fani Willis has been working overtime in her investigation of Donald Trump’s attempts to “find 11,780 votes” in the 2020 Georgia presidential election and steal the legitimate win by Joe Biden in the state, issuing a flurry of subpoenas in the past few weeks to multiple senior Georgia GOP officials and even Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman. Now, Willis has set her sights on Congressman Jody Hice (R-GA) who was one of 11 Republican House legislators who attended a December 21st, 2020 meeting at the White House that was held, according to House Select Committee member Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), to “disseminate his false claims and to encourage members of the public to fight the outcome on January 6.”

While Willis is targeting Hice with a subpoena to appear before her special grand jury due to his involvement in the John Eastman scheme to push a slate of phony electors to steal the election for Trump, the Georgia lawmaker was also involved in the disgraced former president’s efforts to set the stage for future control of the electoral process as Trump’s endorsed candidate to replace the Republican Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, the man who refused Trump’s entreaties to commit election fraud.

Luckily for those concerned about election integrity, Rep. Hice lost that GOP primary contest to Raffensperger in a landslide.

Now, according to Kyle Cheney at POLITICO, Hice is fighting to move his challenge to the grand jury subpoena from the jurisdiction of the Georgia courts to the federal bench.

Hice’s efforts to escape testifying about his role in Trump’s coup plotting doesn’t come as a surprise to Bee Nguyen, the winner of the Democratic primary for Georgia Secretary of State,

“Hice has always been vocal about his loyalty to Trump, and he hasn’t shied away from his efforts to overturn the will of the people and the 2020 election,” HuffPost quoted Georgia state Rep. Bee Nguyen (D) as saying of Hice.

“Aiding and abetting an insurrection that turned violent and deadly is anti-democratic. Hice continues to show us that he can’t be trusted to administer free and fair elections,” Nguyen continued.

With Hice originally scheduled to appear before District Attorney Willis’ special grand jury tomorrow, it remains to be seen whether his attempts to elude testifying under oath will succeed.

But with both Hice and Senator Graham doing their damnedest to avoid going on the record under penalty of perjury, one can only suspect that they both have something significant to hide.

The people of Georgia — and the rest of America — deserve to know exactly what they are hiding.
