A New York Supreme Court Justice has ordered former New York City mayor and Donald Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to testify before a Fulton County special grand jury. After failing to appear at a show cause hearing before the high court, now he won’t have a choice but to appear as a material witness in Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation into attempts to illegally overturn the 2020 election results.
GIULIANI did not appear at a "show cause" hearing to challenge his subpoena earlier this month, so the justice entered an order against him, requiring him to appear for testimony in the Fulton County case. https://t.co/eyqCAwM8AN pic.twitter.com/AvEV8mgAqB

The Honorable Thomas Farber wrote:
“IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that Rudolph William Louis Giuliani, having been properly served with an Order to Show Cause and having failed to appear before me at 10:00 a.m. on the 13‘“ day of July, 2022 at Part 63, 111 Centre Street to show cause why a summons should not be issued as described, a Final Order is hereby issued by this Court; IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Rudolph William Louis Giuliani appear and testify before the Special Purpose Grand jury in the Superior Court of the State of Georgia for the County of Fulton, on August 9, 2022, and on any such other dates as the court there may order.”
In early July, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Giuliani – along with former Trump attorneys John Eastman, Jenna Ellis, Cleta Mitchell, and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) – were subpoened
Giuliani was instrumental in helping his former client try to subvert democracy. He was present at the Willard Hotel in D.C. on January 5, 2021, conspiring to stop the electoral count on Jan. 6. He has also filed dozens of frivolous lawsuits which would lead to the suspension of his law license in both Washington D.C. and his home state of New York.
Giuliani’s co-conspirator John Eastman was the alleged architect of the plan to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence not to certify Biden’s win.
In another misguided – and illegal – move, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made several calls to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking the state’s top election official to “toss out” legally cast mail-in ballots.
Fani Willis, Atlanta’s first black female district attorney, has been moving at break-neck speed with no signs of slowing down. She recently sent target letters to several Trump allies in Georgia who participated in the effort to overturn the state’s election results. More importantly, in addition to subpoenaing Giuliani, Willis hasn’t ruled out calling on Trump himself to testify before the grand jury.
