NEWSMAX TO TRUMP: We're just not that into you

Trump’s former propaganda machine Newsmax, has apparently moved on from the twice-impeached ex-president. No longer broadcasting Trump’s MAGA rallies live, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy said back in April, “We don’t want to be known as the Trump Channel.”

When you lose Newsmax – ouch!

The far-right news channel is just the latest in a long line of once-loyal media allies that are jumping off the Trump Train.

In February, The Washington Post reported that Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox News had stopped airing Trump’s rallies live. At the time Ruddy was more than eager to pick up the slack – the complete opposite from now.

Since the televised Jan. 6 Select Committee hearings began, the political tide has been turning against the ex-President for months. Pushback from once loyal media figures has shut down Trump-backed candidates’ claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

Not to mention that lawsuits from both Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic over unsubstantiated claims that the companies were involved in the Republican’s baseless conspiracy theory that their machines somehow switched votes from Trump to Biden.

It was a little over a year ago that Ruddy was promoting his idol — and promoting Newsmax as THE Trump Channel – something he’d contradict a year later.

While some in conservative media aren’t ready to abandon the presidential loser and insurrectionist just yet, many polls and MAGA are saying different.

Fox News recently shared a video of Republican voters in Arizona saying they think the former guy should sit 2024 out. These voters are throwing their support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

These Trump defectors are backed up by a conservative poll of Republican voters who said they don’t want to see Trump run again. It’s a sentiment echoed by The Wall Street Journal, NY Post, and even The Washington Examiner.

As the midterms approach – and controversial Trump-installed Supreme Court justices overturn rights that a majority of the American people support  – the yelling-at-clouds, white-grievance approach is wearing thin.

Recently OAN was dropped by Verizon, leaving the financial solvency of the network in doubt.

According to CEO Chris Ruddy, “Newsmax is not One America.”

As far as support for Trump running in 2024 – it looks like the writing could be on the wall.
