STRAIGHT TALK: President Biden calls out Trump in a scathing speech

News journalist for Occupy Democrats.
Just four days after testing positive for the coronavirus, President Joe Biden gave a fiery speech condemning his disgraced predecessor for his lack of response during the Jan. 6th attack on democracy, criticizing Trump for not having the “courage to act.”
Speaking virtually to the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), President Bident praised the Capitol and Metro Police, saying “The police were heroes that day,” while also reminding America, that at the same time law enforcement officers were being attacked and assaulted, “for three hours, the defeated former President of the United States watched it all happen.”
Three hours Biden refers to as “medieval hell” for those fighting to save democracy – all while Trump “sat in the comfort of the private dining room next to the Oval Office,” the President said.
Brave women and men in uniform across America should never forget that the defeated former president of the United States watched January 6th happen and didn’t have the spine to act.

With over 3,000 members, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives is a public service organization, committed to equity in policing, community engagement, and the hiring and promotion of Black police officers.

In May – on the second anniversary of George Floyd’s death – President Biden signed an executive order to improve criminal justice and policing practices. NOBLE president, Frederick Thomas, was at the White House in a show of support.
In his speech, Biden congratulated NOBLE member, Cedrick Richmond, for being awarded the Leadership Medal – crediting him for the reminder that, “For too many Americans, justice and fairness and economic opportunity are still just empty promises that need to be fulfilled,”

Though not 100% recovered from his bout with COVID, Biden was no less fierce or focused in his condemnation of the ex-President’s actions leading up to, and on, January 6th. Nor did he have any patience for those involved in the violence, painting a visual picture of officers being beaten and brutalized, after coming “face to face with the crazed mom that believed the lies of the defeated President.”

Fired up, President Biden went on to say:
“You can’t be pro-insurrection, and pro-cop. You can’t be pro-insurrection, and pro-democracy. You can’t be pro-insurrection, and pro-American.”
Truer words were never spoken, Mr. President.
