Biden calls the GOP out in fiery speech as the crowd cheers

President Joe Biden has ramped up his rhetoric and is now pulling no punches in calling out the lawlessness of the Republican Party — much to the delight of Democratic voters.

The Scranton, Pennsylvania native received a standing ovation today at a rally in Wilkes-Barre – not far from his hometown — where he went to deliver an address on law and crime.

President Biden had some harsh words for those refusing to condemn the January 6th Capitol attack, as he told the  crowd about his “Safer America Plan.”

“Let me say this to my MAGA Republican friends in Congress – Don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you won’t condemn what happened on the 6th. For God’s sake whose side are you on? Whose side are you on? You’re either on the side of a mob, or the side of the police. You can’t be law enforcement and pro-insurrection. You can’t be a party of law and order and call the people who attacked the police on Jan. 6th, patriots.”

“What are we teaching our children?” he added.

This is the latest example of the forceful words now coming from a President who seems fed up – as are 81 million of us. With a steep rise in inflammatory, fascist, and hateful rhetoric, Biden called out what he sees as un-American and un-democratic behavior from a party he used to respect.

“This is not your father’s Republican Party,” Biden reminded the audience.

At a Democratic fundraiser in Bethesda, Maryland last week, Biden controversially declared that it was either the start or the end of the MAGA wing of the GOP and described the underlying philosophy behind that faction in a way that infuriated Trump supporters.

“What we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of an extreme MAGA philosophy. It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.”

One little word put the MAGA caucus on edge, with Biden being attacked by right-wing critics for deeming the extreme wing of the party to be semi-fascists.  They called his words “divisive,” but many Democrats shrugged and commented that if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a damn duck — and its name is probably Donald.

This is the party that supported the insurrection, downplayed the Capitol attack, makes campaign videos urging violence against Democratic opponents, believes Trump’s baseless claims of mass voter fraud, and – refuses to condemn neo-Nazis and violent attacks by right-wing White nationalist groups on the LGBTQ community.

No, President Biden’s words are right on target, and exactly what voters need to see and hear from POTUS as we approach the 2022 midterms. Coming off weeks of legislative successes, Dark Brandon’s riding high and taking no malarkey from the GOP – and we love to see it.
