COUP COUP: Ginni Thomas urged Wis. lawmakers to overturn Trump election loss
The ultra MAGA wife of a far right-wing Supreme Court Justice, Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, emailed at least two Republican Wisconsin lawmakers in a failed attempt to overturn then-President-Elect Joe Biden’s win in the state.
Going all in on sedition, less than a week after the 2020 election, Thomas sent identical emails to state Rep. Gary Tauchen and Senate Elections Committee chair, state Sen. Kathy Bernier.
With “Please do your Constitutional duty” in the subject line, the radical conservative activist urged the legislators to “stand strong in the face of political and media pressure” and falsely claimed they have the constitutional authority to “choose” their own state electors. The Washington Post reports Thomas went on to write:
“Please reflect on the awesome authority granted to you by our Constitution. And then please take action to ensure that a clean slate of Electors is chosen for our state.”
As the Congressional panel investigating the Jan. 6th Capitol riot started their public hearings, even more damning evidence tied Mrs. Thomas to efforts by the Trump loyalists to subvert democracy.
Accusations of conflict of interest for her husband intensified after the public learned Ginni emailed 29 Republican legislators in Arizona with the same suggestion to choose their own electors and overturn Biden’s victory.
The lady Thomas also communicated with disgraced former Trump attorney and former Chapman University professor John Eastman.
Eastman has been subpoenaed in multiple state and federal investigations into his role in helping the ex-President try to overturn the 2020 election.
Architect of the plan to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to violate his oath and violate the Electoral Count Act, Eastman has denied talking with Thomas or her husband about election issues that may come before the Supreme Court.
John Eastman even wrote a substack article entitled, “OMG, Mrs. Thomas asked me to give an update about election litigation to her group. Stop the Presses!” he wrote:
I can categorically confirm that at no time did I discuss with Mrs. Thomas or Justice Thomas any matters pending or likely to come before the Court. We have never engaged in such discussions, would not engage in such discussions, and did not do so in December 2020 or anytime else.
After initially agreeing to testify before the House Select committee, Thomas abruptly changed her mind in late June.
With the newest revelations, Congress may not be the only investigative body that would like a word.
The Department of Justice has been issuing subpoenas and executing search warrants on individuals involved in the coup attempt, including those who’ve been in contact with Justice Thomas’ wife.
Ginni better buckle up – her husband Clarence nor her idol Donald will be able to save her.
