Andrew Giuliani traded text messages with top-ranking Oath Keeper shortly after election

Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City mayor and disgraced attorney Rudy Giuliani, exchanged text messages with indicted Oath Keeper Keeper Kelly SoRelle shortly after the November 2020 election, according to NBC News. The failed gubernatorial candidate was working as a White House aide at the time.

Sorelle was recently charged for her role in events leading to the January 6th Capitol attack. A bipartisan Senate report found that at least seven individuals – including five police officers – died in connection with the attack.

She confirmed the communications with Andrew Giuliani but denied that they had anything to do with plotting a coup – insisting she only wanted to discuss “election irregularities.”

An attorney for the far-right militia group at the center of the January 6th investigation, SoRelle was a volunteer for Lawyers for Trump when she contacted the younger Giuliani. The former public liaison assistant’s father represented ex-President Trump during his treasonous – and failed – campaign to overturn the results of the 2020 election and subvert democracy. Andrew Giuliani claims not to be familiar with the Oath Keeper, saying “Until you mentioned her until I looked it up, it didn’t really ring a bell.”

According to NBC News:

“That same Oath Keeper member, Kellye SoRelle, also tried to text a White House number on Dec. 20, according to a new book from Denver Riggleman, a former Republican congressman from Virginia, and journalist Hunter Walker. That text message went to a White House switchboard line, so it could not be delivered.”

A former intelligence officer and counterterrorism expert, Riggleman served as an adviser to the House Select Committee investigating January 6th from last August until April, analyzing data and electronic records and communications – creating a digital map connecting the insurrectionist dots. The Virginia businessman-turned-one-term congressman was booted by MAGA voters in a primary after speaking out against Donald Trump. Riggleman revealed in an interview with 60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker on Sunday that a call had been connected from the White House switchboard to a January 6th rioter during the attack.

Denver Riggleman says the connection was an outgoing call routed through the switchboard at 4:34 PM, and it was answered by an unnamed rioter who allegedly has since been charged by the Justice Department for his role in the storming of the Capitol.

Previously in the background, Andrew Giuliani was propelled into the political spotlight after announcing his bid for the Republican nomination to be New York’s next governor – only to lose to primary opponent Lee Zeldin in an embarrassing defeat.

While the contents of the messages have yet to be revealed, one thing is certain – it can’t be good.

House Select Committee hearings on the January 6th insurrection are set to resume on September 28th, and — with the Department of Justice holding those involved in the Capitol attack accountable — it may be Andrew Giuliani, the son of Trump’s lawyer, who needs legal representation.

Too bad his father lost his license to practice law in New York and Washington DC.
