REVERSE COMMUTE? Venezuelan migrants in NYC offered $15/hr to aid in Florida cleanup efforts

Just weeks after Governor Ron DeSantis played air traffic controller trafficking legal Venezuelan migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard on Florida taxpayers’ dime, the Daily Beast reports that, yup, Venezuelan migrants were seen over the weekend boarding vans in Queens, NY, headed to Florida to aid in the cleanup efforts in Florida following the devastating Hurricane Ian.
Although irony was bludgeoned in 2016, this scenario may have resurrected it—at least for now.
According to the New York Post, the migrants weren’t hired by “Perla,” the mysterious woman found to be a former Army counterintelligence agent hired by the DeSantis camp to lure the migrants from Texas to Massachusetts.
Instead, these were hired by “Camilla,” of ambiguous background or, reports the Post, “from an organization,” according to one of the migrants, 37-year-old Javier Moreno, who also told the Post:
“They want us for hurricane cleanup, we’d get paid $15 an hour, overtime, and $15 for food daily, I think”
Like “Perla,” Camilla handed out fliers explaining the work.

When the Post asked one woman who was hopping on a bus who hired her, she said, “I don’t know anything, sweetheart.”
Oh, we think we may know something about it, right, Ron?

Gov. Ron DeSantis said that his administration has people in Texas targeting migrants who want to reach Florida – ie, Venezuelans: "What we're trying to do is profile, 'OK, who do you think is trying to get to Florida?' You're trying to identify who's most likely to come."
