NO SHAME: Extremist radio host Dana Loesch doesn't care about the Herschel Walker scandal

Right-wing radio and television host, Dana Loesch, shocked no one with her recent comments regarding revelations that Georgia’s Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, Herschel Walker, paid for his then-girlfriend’s abortion in 2009.

The Daily Beast exposed the hypocrisy of the former University of Georgia quarterback, who is running on an extreme, “no exception” anti-abortion platform – rape, incest, and saving the life of the mother be damned – with receipts of a $700 reimbursement check Walker paid his ex-girlfriend for the procedure and pictures of a “get well card” in Walker’s own handwriting.

“What I’m about to say is in no means a contradiction or a compromise of a principle.” – Dana Loesch

But none of that matters to the so-called pro-life advocate Loesch, who unapologetically said on her show “This doesn’t change anything for me. I don’t know if he did it or not – I don’t even care.” Her comments confirmed what those on the left already suspected – that it was never about the fetus.

“I am concerned about one thing, and one thing only – so I don’t care if Herschel Walker paid to abort endangered baby eagles, I want control of the Senate,” Loesch spewed.

Loesch let her misogyny hang out, referring to Walker’s ex-girlfriend – whom she doesn’t know and has never met – as “some skank.” As far as the former Breitbart editor is concerned, “winning is a virtue” – so in other words, integrity and principle need not apply.

She went on to falsely claim that abortion is “used 99% in birth control.” It’s a typical narrative that the right uses to bolster their long-held desires to control — or completely take away — the reproductive health choices and rights of half the country.

This isn’t the first time that Loesch has stirred controversy with her comments. In 2017, as the spokesperson for the National Rifle Association, the outspoken host of The Dana Show filmed a recruitment video for the gun lobbying organization that some say borders inciting violence against the left – implicitly, if not explicitly.

“The ad isn’t an outright exhortation to violence. NRA ads never are. But the NRA has a very long history of using apocalyptic, paranoid rhetoric about the collapse of American society in order to sell people on the notion that they need to act now to preserve their gun rights.” – Vox

Loesch says in the fear-mongering video:

“They use their media to assassinate real news. They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler. They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and award shows to repeat their narrative over and over again. And then they use their ex-president to endorse ‘the resistance.’”

“All to make them march. Make them protest. Make them scream racism and sexism and xenophobia and homophobia. To smash windows, burn cars, shut down interstates and airports, bully and terrorize the law-abiding — until the only option left is for the police to do their jobs and stop the madness. And when that happens, they’ll use it as an excuse for their outrage. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom, is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth.”

“I’m the National Rifle Association of America. And I’m freedom’s safest place.”

The controversial radio host signed a multi-year syndication deal with Radio America, which referred to Loesch as deceased ultra-right wing radio personality Rush Limbaugh’s “heir apparent,” The Hill reported. While Loesch herself said that “no one could fill his shoes,” she did welcome Limbaugh’s listeners to her show after replacing The Rush Limbaugh show in markets in Texas, Alaska, and Arkansas.

While Dana Loesch said the quiet parts out loud, others on the right expressed their unwavering solidarity and support for Herschel Walker using their favorite propaganda tool – deflection.

“NRSC chairman Rick Scott charged in a statement that Democrats “know they are on the verge of losing the Senate” and “have cranked up the smear machine.” – Axios

The biggest deflector of them all, ex-president Donald Trump – couldn’t help weighing in. After all, Walker is his candidate. Trump accused the media of spreading “Fake News” and of “trying to destroy a man who has true greatness in his future,” in a predictable post on his financially troubled platform, Truth Social.

Don’t be distracted by the brazen attempts to distract and deflect from the real issue – control. Loesch said it, and the American people heard it, loud and clear.
