BOMBSHELL: New emails confirm Secret Service fought to keep Trump from Capitol on Jan. 6

Despite all denials from Donald Trump and his cronies, new emails obtained by the January 6th Committee demonstrate just how concerned the Secret Service was about his determination to head to the Capitol Building after riling up fans at his rally — and how angry he was at being thwarted.

When Cassidy Hutchinson, a former high-level aide in the Trump White House, testified before Congress that she’d heard there was a battle of wills between the then-president and his security team over whether he’d be permitted to join the mob at the Capitol, Trump and his supporters denied it and attacked the witness.

Now the House Select Committee is preparing to release corroborating evidence that will demonstrate that the Secret Service found it necessary to coordinate efforts to keep Trump from joining the crowd as they headed to the Capitol.

The Washington Post is reporting that Secret Service communications will be a significant part of Thursday’s public hearing, and they include an urgent email from Ron Rowe, a senior Secret Service supervisor for protective operations, who contacted Trump’s security team requesting confirmation that they’d been successful in diverting him from his insistence on traveling to the Capitol. Timestamps on this email place it shortly after Trump was returned to the White House.

Other internal communications discuss Trump’s anger at being denied, and others still are expected to supply evidence that he knew, during this time period, that violence was already escalating from the mob that sought to prevent Joe Biden’s electoral win from being confirmed.

Donald Trump has tried to discredit Hutchinson’s story, in which she testified that she overheard Secret Service agents saying that Trump lunged for the steering wheel to try to force a driver to take him to the Capitol.

The June testimony was explosive, netting Hutchinson the label of ‘star witness,’ as she made it clear just how big Trump’s tantrums could be behind the scenes.

Now, after months of denials and attacks, and despite the mysterious loss of an untold number of Secret Service communications that the Committee had requested be preserved, Thursday’s hearing will confirm the facts.
