MUST BE GENETIC: Guess what Eric Trump calls the Republican Party now

Eric Trump, the middle son of ex-president Donald Trump, says the party formerly known as the GOP has been reshaped in his father’s image, and that there is “no longer a Republican party.” In an interview on the far right-wing propaganda network Newsmax, the Trump Organization Executive Vice President echoed statements made in previous conversations with the media.

“He’s fundamentally changed the party. It’s no longer the Republican Party, it’s the Trump Party,” Ivanka’s younger brother said.

The Republican party has been in rapid and steep decline since handing the presidential nomination over to a six-times bankrupt conman, who platformed on sexual harassment, xenophobia, and bigotry, so Eric Trump’s words are less of a revelation than a confirmation of where the GOP is going.

While the self-described “conservatives” aren’t unfamiliar with those feelings, they preferred not to say the quiet part out loud. But what the party of Manson Family values didn’t account for was swapping the dog whistle out for a bull horn on maximum volume – and how much the MAGA base would revel in it.

Newsweek reported that, according to the voting and candidate data website Ballotpedia, 92% of Trump-endorsed candidates won their primaries. Lifelong Republicans saw their careers end for little reason than “daring” to speak up against the former President and condemn the extreme new party emerging.

House Select Committee on January 6th Chair, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), and January 6th witness, Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers (R), were just two GOP members to be pushed out of their jobs – and the party. Eric Trump told Newsmax on Saturday, “Not a single person cares about the J6 hearings.”

Maybe not in Trumpghanistan, but it certainly does in real and sane America. Over half believe Donald Trump has no place anywhere near the Oval Officer ever again.

But that didn’t stop Eric from flexing.

“My father has literally brought in a whole new party from the RINO [Republican in name only] class of the Republican Party,” Eric Trump said. “He literally brought in awhole new party that stands for something totally different than the wider class of the Republican Party ever stood for. My father’s really redefined what the party is, how the party speaks to its constituents and I think it’s exactly why you have this overwhelming support in all of the people he’s endorsed.”

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Ivana’s third, and final child. There is a whole new party emerging in Trump’s image. One of grifting, racism, intolerance, and bullying. While Reagan’s Republican undoubtedly had its flaws, what it also had were boundaries and some semblance of patriotism and decorum.

The same can’t be said about the GOP now.

We’ll see how grateful Daddy Trump is for his son’s loyalty as New York Attorney General Letitia James gets closer to justice in her civil investigation into the Trump Organization’s financial dealings. As Executive VP, the “other” brother, may want to start working on his resume.
