SLAM DUNK: Tim Ryan humiliates J.D. Vance in spectacular fashion during Ohio Senate debate
The second debate between United States Senate hopefuls Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and venture capitalist J.D. Vance was about what you’d expect – Ryan taking Vance to the woodshed, and Vance coming back for more.
Ryan called the Hillbilly Elegy author out on his reversal of opinion – and subsequent political fortune – after sucking up to former President Trump and earning not only Trump’s endorsement, but a $40 million campaign cash infusion from Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and another $15 million from tech billionaire Peter Thiel.
“What do you think they want for that? They want your loyalty, and you’ve proved that you’ll kiss their ass too,” Ryan answered the question he adrressed at Vance for him..
“You were calling Trump America’s Hitler, and then you kissed his ass – and then he endorsed you. And you said he’s the greatest President of all time,” he continued.

When Congressman Ryan confronted his opponent for calling conspiracy theorist Alex Jones a more “credible” news source than MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Vance vehemently denied it.
“I never said that Tim. Go and run the tape,” Vance boldly asserted.
“It’ll be like 30 minutes, and then we’ll all know you’re lying,” Ryan replied.
Meidas Touch put together a video with the receipts to prove Vance’s lie.
Tim Ryan just SLAMMED JD Vance during the debate for calling conspiracy theorist maniac Alex Jones "credible." Vance denied it. So we found the tape. Here it is spliced together with Vance's denial. pic.twitter.com/LCOB8zyR1A

Republicans have been known to have short-term memory when it comes to their words – and Vance didn’t disappoint, interjecting, “that’s not true,” when Ryan accused the author-turned-MAGA-candidate, of referring to Trump as “America’s Hitler.” But a screenshot shared by Vance’s old college roommate may jog his memory.
In April, Georgia State Rep. Josh McLaurin (D), tweeted a screenshot from a 2016 Facebook message he reportedly received from his then-suite mate, saying, “the public deserves to know the magnitude of this guy’s bad faith.”
The screenshot below is @JDVance1’s unfiltered explanation from 2016 of the breakdown in Republican politics that he now personally is trying to exploit.

“I’m not surprised by Trump’s rise, and I think the entire party has only itself to blame. Trump is the fruit of the party’s collective neglect,” Vance wrote, adding, “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler.”
The moderator asked the Republican to “name one thing” he disagreed with the former President about to disprove the Democratic representative’s allegations that Vance is a Trump sycophant.
“Mr. Vance, Congressman Ryan has called you Donald Trump’s ‘ass kisser.’ The implication being you will pay any price for the endorsement and support of the former President who publicly insulted you in Youngstown,” the moderator explained the motivation for his question.
Unsurprisingly, the author deflected in his answer making vague and generalized statements – and avoiding criticizing his mentor.

When confronted on the issue of reproductive rights —and whether he supports a total abortion ban — even more noticeable than Vance avoiding the question was his use of Trumpian hand gestures as he gave a convoluted answer that blamed illegal immigration on the rape of a ten-year-old girl who was denied an abortion in the state.

Vance attempted to place the onus on Ryan and President Joe Biden while ignoring the fact that the rapist, 27-year-old Guatemalan national Gerson Fuentes, had been in the country for at least seven years – long before Biden took office.
What the most recent debate proves is that there is no limit to the gaslighting and the lies of GOP candidates, including J.D. Vance, despite audio and video proof of their deception.
The race for U.S. Senate in Ohio has been a close one, but after two undeniable slam dunk debate performances, Tim Ryan has shown who’s best for America – and who isn’t.
