BONEHEAD BILLIONAIRE: Elon Musk shares his WORST. TWEET. EVER.

From his mountain abode atop the Twitterverse, Elon Musk has once again blessed the world with his “sagacity” (or perhaps pomposity is the more apt word), suggesting power-sharing with fascists, yet himself sharing power with no one.
Musk tweeted his advice that voters put Republicans in office so that the government will be better at…GETTING NOTHING DONE!
To independent-minded voters:
Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.

Who is going to share power with you so that we can avoid future idiocy?

I’m a registered independent and I’m voting blue.
You’re not an independent.
You’re an out of touch elite who’ll vote for whatever side won’t tax him – even if it means the rest of us losing our rights.— NotTheRealTraceyDelaney (@TraceyDelaney) November 7, 2022

Of course, inaction from the government would mean that billionaires like Musk continue to benefit from tax policies that favor the wealthy class. It’s very easy to not want anything to change when you’re not suffering — and others are.
Mr. Musk also doesn’t appear to recognize the irony of promoting power-sharing when he shares his own power with no one. He’s essentially created an environment of chaos at Twitter right now with his hard-handed policies.

At Tesla, he’s known to fly into tantrums and fire people without cause. Wired has reported that he’s even known to flip out over certain smells, as the ironically-named billionaire evidently has a superhuman olfactory sense.
California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing, meanwhile, has begun a lawsuit against Tesla after it found that Musk engineered not just cars, but also an environment that has led to racial discrimination and mistreatment of black workers, perhaps an occupational hazard for a White person born and raised in South Africa.
Fortune has reported that one Tesla investor, Solomon Chau, also filed suit against the company for manufacturing what he calls a “toxic work environment” that includes harassment and racial bias.
In short, Musk is in no position to talk about abuses of power.
But his argument is also idiotic from a historical point of view. It was the sharing of power between Democrats and Republicans that allowed the morally bankrupt slavery-sympathizing Democrats at the time to create the Gag Rule prior to the Civil War and force comprises that allowed slavery to continue.
It was only when the Radical Republicans took power that we saw progress – and it was after they had to once again share power with the “Dixiecrats” (who have long since morphed into the modern Republican Party) that we saw regression and Jim Crow.
As a South African, Musk should ask himself if it would have been good for Nelson Mandela to face even more obstruction than he did as president. Should he have shared power with the white supremacists?
No, and neither should those who believe in democracy share power with fascists like Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), New York GOP gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin, or House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who do not.
So, Elon – sharing isn’t always such a good idea.
In fact, maybe next time you think of sharing your thoughts, just don’t.
Ross is, ironically, still on Twitter. Follow him there! He needs you! @RossRosenfeld
