LOSS LEADER: Kristi Noem wants the GOP to win and that should make Ronna McDaniel VERY uneasy
Ronna McDaniel is having a bad week. As Republicans continue to eat their own, the GOP Chairwoman has been added to the menu. The latest to dig in to the cannibalistic buffet is none other than Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD), who suggests it may be time for a change in party nutrition.
“I don’t know of a party that can continue to lose like we have and keep their jobs,” the governor said.
In an appearance on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures, host Sean Duffy asked Noem where she thought the party was headed moving forward — and whether McDaniel should be replaced.

“Listen, Sean, we need to win,” Noem told the former Congressman. “That’s just the fact. Our kids’ future depends on it.”
“We really all have a responsibility to message what Republican policies bring to this country.”
Nice way to beat around the bush.
Earlier in the week, MyPillow CEO and Trump ally, Mike Lindell, announced that he was considering challenging McDaniel for the top spot.
An announcement that would be easier to dismiss as untenable, had former President Trump not endorsed the endeavor, lending credibility and validity behind what would have been an unheard-of possibility a decade ago.
As chair of the GOP, the at-most-times-incoherent Lindell would be responsible for campaigning and fundraising for the party and its candidate — deciding who gets what and how much.
Until recently, the RNC was footing Trump’s legal bills – while warning the former President that the situation would change if he decided to run in 2024.
We know how that ended.
While Trump’s support of Lindell to unseat McDaniel — coming so shortly after announcing his presidential bid — may be a coincidence, it’s highly unlikely.
Trump and McDaniel have had a tenuous relationship, despite her unwavering public support of the ex-President.
The niece of Mitt Romney, who Trump has been vocal about criticizing, went so far as to drop the “Romney” from her name to please her egotistical idol.
Noem who was up for reelection this year, won in a landslide – beating her Democratic opponent by double digits. Bringing in Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA), and former Democratic Congresswoman-turned-MAGA-maniac Tulsi Gabbard to ruby-red South Dakota to campaign for her probably didn’t hurt.
Rumored to be a 2024 presidential contender, Noem is likely hedging her bets, towing the MAGA line and getting in lock-step with what Donald Trump wants. In that case, it’s McDaniel’s ouster.
“Everybody needs to evaluate what we are doing. Is it effective and are we messaging truly that our policies work,” South Dakota’s first woman governor told Duffy.
When the party you’ve been loyal to thinks that a struggling pillow salesman and former crack addict would do a better job than you, it may be time for Ronna McDaniel to rethink her choices.
Perhaps changing parties instead of her name would have been a more wise decision.
