WALKER BYE: Twitter sends the beleaguered baller and his badge off into the sunset
Looks like Herschel Walker just could not make it into the endzone after all.
Following a bitter, hotly contested campaign, the former football star came up short against incumbent, Reverend Raphael Warnock, with the Associated Press declaring Warnock the winner with about a 2.5% edge.
Perhaps Walker shouldn’t think of it so much as a Senate seat loss as winning a free trip to Mar-a-Lago, where he can join losers like Kari Lake, Kanye, Madison Cawthorn, and, of course, Dirty Donald himself, who reigns supreme there (and nowhere else).
Walker’s campaign was hobbled by several things, including a lack of focus, allegations that he pushed women to get abortions, allegations of repeated abuse against women, his proclivity for boneheaded comments, his personality, his complete and utter lack of experience and, as Jim Downey’s character from Billy Madison might say, never even approaching “anything that could be considered a rational thought.”
The victory by Warnock will give the Democrats a 51-49 lead in the Senate, providing some cushion for times that certain senators in their own caucus – I won’t say who, but one has a name similar to a theater venue and the other has one similar to a large house in, say, West Virginia – might consider bolting or disrupting things.
The win for Dems was also a cherry on the cake of disappointment Republicans suffered after their “Red Trickle.”
