ELECTION DISINTEGRITY: NC voter fraud investigation spotlight on ex-Trump Chief-of-Staff
Mark Meadows can’t catch a break, and it’s glorious to see.
Trump’s former Chief of Staff is facing prosecution for voter fraud as North Carolina prosecutors decide whether to charge the disgraced former congressman for casting a ballot in the state and using an address he never lived in.
According to state law, voters must “physically live” at the property attached to their registration, and intentionally providing false information is subject to prosecution and several months in jail if convicted.
After news reports questioning whether the ex-President’s right-hand man voted illegally, Attorney General Josh Stein asked the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations to open a probe into the allegations in March of this year, local affiliate WRAL News reported.
The SBI handed the voter fraud case back over to Stein’s office in November of this year.

“Prosecutors with the AG’s Office will determine whether criminal charges are appropriate, not the SBI,” the agency said in a statement, adding, “Because the case is now pending a decision by the AG’s Office, no additional information is available.”
Meadows, a vocal critic of mail-in voting, applied for an absentee ballot to vote in North Carolina’s general election by claiming a mobile home rental as his residence.

The problem, however, is that Meadows never actually stayed at the Scaly Mountain property which is located in the western part of the state, according to the previous owner. Owned by an elderly couple before they sold the mobile home last year, the previous owner told WRAL News in a telephone interview that Meadows “never spent a night down there.”

They added that Meadows’ wife, Debra, only stayed one or two nights at the property, though both Meadows and his wife were registered at the address in 2020.
This is confirmed by North Carolina Board of Elections records.
The Board of Election removed the former White House senior staffer from its voter rolls in April after discovering Meadows had voted in Virginia in 2021.
But that’s not all.
Meadows is also registered to vote in the state of South Carolina, where he and his wife purchased a lakeside home for over $1.6 million.
Chris Whitmire, a spokesman for the South Carolina Elections Commission, confirmed to the Associated Press that Mark Meadows has been registered in the Palmetto State since March 2022, according to U.S. News and World Report.
“That’s when he became active,” Whitmire said, noting that neither Meadows had yet cast a vote in the state. “From our perspective, it just looks like any new South Carolina voter.”
Our office has received the NCSBI file,” said the spokesman for the NC AG’s office, Nazneen Ahmed. “Because this is an ongoing matter, we are unable to comment further.”
The case is currently under review.
Since the 2020 election, the GOP has launched a coordinated attack on voting by mail. With three different active voter registrations in different states, the hypocritical Republican has some explaining to do.
Let’s see if the party of election integrity and voter fraud holds their party member accountable for engaging in the very behavior they claim to be against.
