CULINARY UPGRADE: You’ll never guess what’s replacing Lauren Boebert’s Shooters Grill
In a karmic twist of fate, just seven months after Rep. Lauren Boebert‘s (R-CO) racist mom went on a vile anti-Mexican YouTube rant, the congresswoman’s failed gun-themed restaurant will be re-opened with new owners and a new menu.
Can anyone say tacos?
In July, Boebert and her husband Jayson, received notice from their landlord that the lease on their not-so-fine-dining establishment, Shooters Grill, wouldn’t be renewed – and now Tapatios Family Mexican Restaurant is poised to take its place.
Earlier this year, Rep. Boebert’s mother, Shawn Bentz, went on a xenophobic diatribe about everything from Mexican music to mocking Latino customers shopping at the Rifle, Colorado Walmart. Videos that have since been deleted – but the internet is forever.

“I hate when I pull up to a red light, or even a gas station and you’re sitting there listening to a nice country song or even some classic rock,” Bentz said to an unnamed friend next to her in the video. “I hate it whenever they’re like, playing that hat music.”
“Are we allowed to say Mexican?” she asked.
Before going into a stereotypical and racist impression mimicking what she thinks Latino music is.

But it gets better.
Bentz’s friend chimes in with what she hates – the “brown people” shopping at Walmart on a Sunday afternoon when she says that “all you wanna do is just get in, get your shit and go.”
But unfortunately for the two cackling Karens, they’re not able to do that because of the “Mexicans” shopping in the store, according to them.
“You got to wait behind 80,000 other kind of people, and they don’t speak no English. And their damn kids running into you with their carts. They go with their whole family – the grandma, and the grandpa, and the aunts. And the uncles, and the 80 daddies. And the 80 different kids, and the 80 different daddies.”
“I hate it,” she added.
Rep. Boebert is no stranger to making racist comments herself – and now it’s easy to see where she got it from.
Boebert has never missed an opportunity to make vile comments about her Democratic colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) – repeatedly referring to the Islamic Congresswoman as a terrorist.
Boebert’s anti-immigration stance is also well known.
Fortunately, the people of Rifle, Colorado don’t share her bigoted views and soon a Mexican family restaurant will replace her “shoot ’em up” themed restaurant that failed to pay employees and gave its customers’ food poisoning.
From the sounds of her mother’s rhetoric it seems like, with a shifting demographic, Rifle, Colorado is definitely changing for the more diverse and inclusive better.
Karma comes at you fast.
