UNEXPECTED TAKEDOWN: Tulsi Gabbard destroys GOP congressman-elect Santos over his lies in brutal interview

Newly elected congressman George Santos (R-NY) is having a rough week. On Tuesday’s episode of Fox News‘s Tucker Carlson Tonight, the less-than-truthful representative-elect was called out for his lies by none other than the GOP’s new darling, guest-host Tulsi Gabbard.

And it was quite delicious.

“A lie is not an embellishment on a resume,” Gabbard told Santos directly to his Zoomed face.

Watch the video below.

While Tulsi is certainly no friend of democracy — or America for that matter —watching her destroy Santos live on air was an interview for the books.

Clearly flustered, Santos was no match for the former Democratic congresswoman and Putin propaganda pusher.

“The results people are looking for are called into question when you tell blatant lies – not embellishments,” Gabbard said. “And I this is, this is  I think is one of the biggest concerns congressman-elect, is that you don’t really seem to be taking this seriously.”

That’s the understatement of the year, for sure.

“You’ve apologized, you’ve said you made mistakes, but you’ve outright lied. You said you worked at Goldman Sachs and Citigroup, but they’ve said ‘we’ve got no record of this guy working for us.’ You’ve said you’ve gone to and graduated from these universities. Well, they’ve said ‘we’ve got no record of that,”’ Gabbard told Santos.

“These are blatant lies, and it calls into question how your constituents and the American people can believe anything that you say when you are standing on the floor of the House of Representatives supposedly fighting for them,” the former Democratic Congreswoman continued her assault.

“We can debate my resume, and how I worked with firms such as Goldman and Citigroup…” Santos started before being interrupted mid-sentence.

“Is it debatable, or is it just false? Is it debatable, or is it false?” Gabbard asked accusingly.

In the week and a half since Santos was exposed as a fraud by The New York Times, Democrats have called for the deceitful representative-elect to resign – something Santos has so far said he isn’t going to do.

A majority of the Republican Party has been silent on the controversy.

With a barely-there majority, the GOP needs this seat as the race for Speaker of the House sees a divided caucus splitting off the votes that Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) needs.

The frustrated Santos attempted to gloss over his fabrications, telling Gabbard that he could “explain” to her how to make investment decisions.

“I can sit down and explain to you what you can do in private equity, in capital intro via servicing limited partners and general partners,” he stuttered. “We can have this discussion that’s gonna go way over the American people’s head – but that’s not what I campaigned on.”

Needless to say, Tulsi Gabbard was not amused.

“My concern, the concern that people at home have, you’re saying this discussion will go way above the heads of the American people. Basically insulting their intelligence. So not only you now backtracking on these lies that you’ve told, but you’re saying you can’t explain it in a way that your constituents would be able to understand,” she shot back.

The irony of the interaction is Gabbard’s apparent lack of awareness of her own political flip-flopping.

While she hasn’t been dishonest about her military service to this country, she’s been less than transparent after handily losing her presidential bid in 2020.

Both have spouted the same Republican talking points on domestic issues affecting the nation and pushed the same Kremlin propaganda in regard to U.S. support of Ukraine in Putin’s war on the free and independent country.

And both have received campaign donations from known Putin loyalists.

In a polarized and partisan political climate, Republicans will always be contrary to what the Democrats call for – regardless if it’s the right thing to do.

If it takes one of them to take down their own, so be it.
