DONNY DORK-O: Trump tries another tired, racist trope against Elaine Chao

You know how you don’t walk around casually using the N-word (I hope)?
The same goes for the racist slur that Donald Trump uses for his former Transportation Secretary, Elaine Chao, aka Mrs. Mitch McConnell.
Repeating it is just as bad as him saying it, so when you’re a person who has to write about him being a disgusting racist misogynist xenophobe, you have to tread lightly.
Trump knows exactly what he’s doing when using that slur, which he did yet again on his failing Truth Social app on Wednesday night.
And yet he’ll feign outrage if anyone should dare call him a racist misogynist xenophobe in response to him acting like one.

Trump’s every accusation is a confession.

He also does this thing where he insults the wife of one of his enemies as a way to hurt both of them.

His attack on Chao came with an attack on her husband, and the subtext is a full-on mockery of a man who won’t stand up for his wife.
I’ll share a screenshot of his post, but I won’t write out his vulgar Asian slur.
Asian hate goes unchecked far too much in this country, just like anti-Semitism and racism.
So, yeah, that’s disgusting.
While I can’t say I’m a huge Elaine Chao fan, I will absolutely take her side when the orange-tinged white man-baby comes for her because he’s fear-sharting over his legal problems and needs a scapegoat.
Remember, Trump would rather pile his problems on a woman thanks to all of his unresolved Mommy Issues, but it’s even better for him if she’s a woman of color.
We don’t really hear Mitch McConnell defending his wife that often, but Chao has addressed this particular issue several times, as she did on CNN Thursday morning.
After Trump revived his racist nickname of her overnight, Former Trump Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao says, “He’s trying to get a rise out of us. He says all sorts of outrageous things, and I don't make a point of answering any of one of them.” pic.twitter.com/Nd6PqPyJGm

She also does this on Fox News, just FYI.
Fox Business' Stuart Varney: "Former Pres. Trump attacked you on the grounds of your ethnicity."
Former Trump Transportation Sec. Elaine Chao: "The president says many things. I don't make a point of responding to his comments."
Varney: "We were all appalled at what he said." pic.twitter.com/PQFGus1Ppn

That’s one tactic, for sure. Not giving additional oxygen to something terrible that Trump said makes all of the sense.
But we have to keep shining a light on him when it comes to his racist, sexist, and antisemitic hate speech.
You don’t have to repeat what he said, of course, but it’s important to hold him accountable publicly.
Silence is complicity. Letting Trump walk all over you just makes it worse.
In new batches of Jan 6 Cmte depositions, Trump Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia & Transportation Sec. Elaine Chao said they don't recall discussions of invoking 25th Amendment.
But Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin recalls such a conversation ==>

Elaine Chao was part of that staged-for-the-camera Cabinet meeting where all Trump’s secretaries took turns gushing over his divine excellence. Now she’s acting like he was never more than an internet troll. https://t.co/KPVYl6sNih

From the Elaine Chao J6 Committee transcript:
Q: We've heard from other Members of the Cabinet certain points in time when they came to believe President Trump had lost the election. Was there a point in time when you came to believe he lost?
Chao: Yes. November 3.
