MAD MARGE: GOP Congresswoman finds out the hard way she no longer has seat at popular kids' table

Former Freedom Caucus Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) isn’t happy with some of her colleagues after finding out they lobbied for committee positions behind her back, explicitly calling out Representatives Scott Perry (R-PA), Chip Roy (R-TX), and Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

Greene accused her fellow Freedom Caucus members of being hypocrites, but what really seemed to make her angry was not being given any committee assignments – something the Georgia Congresswoman hoped would change once Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) assumed the role of speaker.

We found out that there were several members – three in fact – that went in last night and were demanding positions for themselves. Demanding gavel positions, demanding subcommittees. Demanding for people to be taken off committees and people to be put on committees.

“I’m the only Republican that has zero committees,” Greene told C-SPAN after a conference meeting.

In February 2021 – less than a month after Trump incited the violent attack on the Capitol, and only a month after being sworn in – Greene was stripped of her House Committee assignments in a bi-partisan 230-199 vote.

Twelve Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in booting Greene from the Budget panel and the Education and Labor Committee, NPR reported.

Visibly upset, the QAnon conspiracy theorist accused Perry, Roy, and Gaetz of not being loyal to the conservative agenda.

“Scott Perry, before his general election, refused to vote against the bill that was all about the gay marriage bill,” Greene said. “Conservatives would not like that.”

MTG’s former America First bestie Gaetz has been vocal from the start that he won’t support McCarthy’s run for speaker.

Greene on the other hand changed her tune after allegedly securing a promise from the then-Minority Leader to give her a power position in the chamber.

But McCarthy failed to get the necessary 218 votes – not once, but three times.

Despite members of the Freedom Caucus taking millions from McCarthy during their reelection campaigns, the wannabe Speaker still can’t whip their support.

Greene was livid, saying:

Bob Good – $2 million from Kevin McCarthy to get elected. Lauren Boebert, under $2 million from Kevin McCarthy to get elected. Many more people have taken Kevin McCarthy’s, and there’s a few of them that don’t want to support him as Speaker.

“I find out it’s Freedom Caucus colleagues and my supposed friends that went and did that and they asked nothing for me,” Greene said. “I am furious.”

“There’s not going to be a tiny little group that is going to demand their way because they want subcommittee chairs and they want certain power positions,” the congresswoman from Georgia fumed.

“That is not how this works.”
