GROPE-GATE: Chaos (and NEW ALLEGATIONS) after CPAC head Matt Schlapp is accused of sexual abuse

After the news broke that CPAC and American Conservative Union (ACU) leader Matt Schlapp had been accused of sexually assaulting a male campaign staffer working for Herschel Walker, other right-wing voices have weighed in, ranging from condemnation to additional allegations.

Schlapp is accused of grabbing a male staffer’s crotch after asking the man to meet with him to discuss the future of his political career.

The individual, who has come forward anonymously but says he’ll reveal his identity if Schlapp denies the incident, provided contemporary evidence, including messages with Schlapp after the fact and his immediate contact with the campaign to report it.

Now responses are flowing, including a new allegation from self-proclaimed ‘ex-gay’ Milo Yiannopoulos and a condemnation from Christian Walker, who has been very vocal in addressing the moral and legal issues surrounding his dad’s campaign.

However, CPAC and ACU continue to defend Schlapp, and the other top Republican facing sexual abuse allegations seems unbothered — Schlapp was at Mar-a-Lago Saturday night keeping company with former president Donald Trump.

CPAC and ACU have released statements claiming that the allegations are from “the left” and “the media,” although the accuser was working on Republican Herschel Walker’s Georgia campaign for Senate.

ACU’s statement, shared by CPAC’s official Twitter account, insists:

“Whether it’s conservative judicial nominees or good people like Matt Schlapp, they will sink to any depth to destroy them and their families. It’s no coincidence that this latest hit piece dropped on the night before the first ever CPAC gala and a mere six weeks before our annual conference.”

However, the younger Walker doesn’t seem convinced.

He dropped a video making sure that his young conservative social media following sees the allegations and hears just how egregious they are:

“Matt pulls a typical predator move, texts the guy back, when the guy is not answering his calls, he texts him, ‘If you can find it in your heart to give me a call,’ because Matt knows that he’s been caught now!”

Meanwhile, Milo Yiannopoulos drops a similar claim on his Telegram account, asserting — right under the ‘sodomy clock’ where he ticks off how long it’s been since he’s engaged in same-sex relations — that Schlapp tried to touch him as well, in the period of time over 2016 and 2017 when they were discussing Yiannopoulos’ CPAC appearance, saying:

“I recoiled, made a joke about him being the wrong skin color, and added that if he tried it again I would slap him and go public. Maybe that had something to do with him colluding to wreck my career, I don’t know.”

This allegation hits the time period right before Schlapp disinvited Yiannopoulos from CPAC.

At the time, US News reported on the decision to bar Yiannopoulos from speaking at the event.

Schlapp said that the decision came because of “boundaries” the provacatuer crossed, specifically referring to a video in which Yiannaopoulos defended sexual contact between adult men and underaged boys.

None of this seems to be slowing Schlapp or CPAC down.

Saturday night, as these allegations and responses flew around the social sphere, Schlapp appeared at Mar-a-Lago, where he introduced the former president’s speech.

Meanwhile, the still unnamed staffer has reportedly spoken with legal counsel, and is still considering his options for recourse
