GROUNDED: Twitter blasts clueless Colorado congresswoman over Buttigieg comments
The FAA determined that an overnight outage triggered the safety system that led to Wednesday’s flight cancellation fiasco, but that didn’t stop Rep. Lauren Boebert (Q-CO via Ted Cruz’s friend’s Vegas timeshare) from putting the full blame on the (very competent) shoulders of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Thousands of flights across the United States were canceled or delayed Wednesday after a government system that offers safety and other information to pilots broke down, stranding some planes on the ground for hours.
The travel headache that impacted millions of travelers occurred a little too soon after a rough holiday season that saw Southwest Airlines canceling thousands of flights due to weather-related staffing and technical issues for days after other airlines were back on schedule.
But the Colorado crackpot had her own theory.
If there’s anything the GOP hates, it’s competence. It kind of busts their manufactured outrage groove.
Since the GOP isn’t interested in solving any the problems they constantly complain about, they ignored the fact that President Joe Biden took immediate action and directed the Department of Transportation to investigate.
Squeaky took a break from looking in Matt Gaetz’s pockets for edibles and loose change to blast Buttigieg for the system error that had absolutely nothing to do with him personally.
MAGA Mean Girl tweets what?
It’s weird how Lauren doesn’t seem to be able to grasp that while SECRETARY Pete might be in charge of the Transportation Department, he’s not an omniscient being who can foresee future travel issues, control the weather, or make sure the power is flowing to a computer system that keeps people flying.
Secretary Pete has taken the brunt of the recent travel troubles and shown nothing but grace under pressure.
He’s spoken sharply and strongly about the issues that need to be addressed and fixed within the FAA and their ability to keep the skies user-friendly.
“Safety is always our first priority, and ensuring flight safety was the reason for this morning’s ground stop while the affected systems were restored and checked,” Secretary Pete said in a video posted to his Twitter account.
“As normal flight operations have resumed, FAA continues to assess the causes of the outage.”

Twitter took Secretary Pete’s side, roasting Bobo for being just so painfully dumb.

He’s Secretary Pete now, Squeaky, not Mayor Pete, try to catch up
He also cannot control “system errors” or weather, but at least he’s not Elaine Chao
Now tell us why you tweeted “1776” & Nancy Pelosi’s location on January 6th #LaurenBoebertIsSoDumb https://t.co/ViV2m6HXAI

Secretary Buttigieg is a Rhodes Scholar, Harvard and Oxford alum, and served in Afghanistan for the U.S. Navy as an intelligence officer.
If anyone is up for the task, it’s him. He’s, by far, extraordinarily qualified for his job.
We can’t say that for everyone in Washington. pic.twitter.com/mfp1NRE4kQ— VoteVets (@votevets) January 11, 2023
Is Pete Buttigieg the Transportation Secretary in Canada also? pic.twitter.com/zAxBRiSSku
