DOG DAYS: How Melania Trump was involved in the killing of an ISIS leader

Former First Lady Melania Trump was not only present during a key meeting strategizing the Trump administration’s killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi – but offered her husband advice after the attack, according to former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller’s new book.
Slated for release on February 7th, in Soldier Secretary: Warnings from the Battlefield & the Pentagon about America’s Most Dangerous Enemies, the Trump appointee describes an “unexpected,” visit from the First Lady while federal officials awaited news on whether the anti-terrorism mission was successful.
“Secretary of Defense Mark Esper quickly gave up his seat and she sat down next to the President, who introduced her to us as if we didn’t know who she was,” Miller, the former senior director for the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) said.
This is the first time that Melania’s presence that day has been reported.
According to Miller, the former President asked the Joint Staff’s deputy director for special operations, Brig. Gen. Marcus Evans to “bring the first lady up to speed.”
“You should talk about the dog. Everyone loves dogs,” Melania Trump reportedly interjected after being briefed.
The dog to which Mrs. Trump is referring is Conan – the military service animal who helped track down the international terrorist during the Baghdadi raid.

President Trump praised the animal, even awarding the Belgian Malinois a medal for his service.

“Conan did a fantastic job and we’re very honored to have Conan here and to have given Conan a certificate and an award,” Donald Trump, who is notoriously canine-averse, saluted the four-legged hero.

Miller’s revelations do raise questions.
Donald Trump is known for taking credit where none is due, which makes his relative silence surrounding the role his wife supposedly played in the aftermath of the killing of one of the world’s most dangerous terrorists curiously out of character for the ex-President.
As international and diplomatic relations between the United States and the world are on the mend the mere thought that international diplomacy potentially rested on the shoulders of a former model like Melania Trump — and a service dog — is both eye-opening and terrifying.
