WATCH: Proud Boys BLOODIED at New York City drag show protest
Anti-drag queen bigots the Proud Boys got a dose of their own medicine while protesting at a family-friendly show in New York City this weekend.
New York Attorney General Letitia James had organized a Drag Queen Story Hour at a Manhattan LGBTQ center this past weekend to show her office’s solidarity with the marginalized group.
Pearls were clutched and panties were bunched as right-wing chaos agents converged on the event, which typically wouldn’t attract much controversy in cosmopolitan New York City.
The Proud Boys, however, got more than they bargained for while trying to intimidate the people attending the event.
Chants of “Fuck the Proud Boys rang” out from counter-protestors at the venue, letting the violent chaos agents know that they weren’t welcome.
The Proud Boys had met their match, as counter-protesters showed up in droves in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, leaving some beaten and bloody during the event.
Arrests were made, and the “f*ck your feelings” crowd was left embarrassed.
“Get the f*ck out of here,” the crowd yelled. “Go home!”
Scuffles amongst the Proud Boys and the counter-protestors led to at least one Proud Boy feeling that the bigoted protest may not have been worth it.
“I came here to help, not get the shit beat out of me,” one of the group’s bloodied members told reporters.

Life comes at you fast.
Last year, NYC Mayor Eric Adams embraced drag queen story hours as a positive force in New York’s cultural landscape, saying “drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces.”
“At a time when our LGBTQ+ communities are under increased attack across this country, we must use our education system to educate. The goal is not only for our children to be academically smart, but also emotionally intelligent,” Adams added.
From coast to coast, those on the right have been a forceful presence at drag shows and story hours, aiming to demonize and criminalize the LGBTQ+ community.
But the pushback from drag performers and their allies is real, taking “f*ck around and find out” to new levels.
The Office of New York State Attorney General Letitia James issued a statement explaining why she organized the event to begin with.
“With so many public officials and private citizens around the nation targeting the drag, queer, and trans communities with hateful policies and violence,” the statement read. “It’s powerful for AG James to loudly and proudly organize this Drag Story Hour.”
Hopefully, with the reaction that they got from the crowd attending this drag queen story hour event, the Proud Boys will think twice before trying again to intimidate people who want their literary stimulation to come with some glamour and style.
