Technical glitches undermine Pastors4Trump prayer vigil

When Pastors4Trump tried to stream a prayer vigil for the former president ahead of his expected indictment, it didn’t go well.

The meeting was cut off after 25 minutes of tech issues, including an audio drop that made Trump briefly appear to have no idea how to ask for a prayer request — though when video was able to resume, the public was informed that Trump had said to pray for the nation, not for him.

Hosted by Jackson Lahmeyer, the first segment of the live show featured three guest stars: the former president himself, and two of his top sycophants, Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

Two of the three focused their commentary largely on their Christian faith, and how it had helped them through hard times – and they seemed to mistakenly think that their idol would do the same.

However, after Stone and Flynn each took a turn extolling their life as men of faith, Trump — introduced as both the 45th and 47th President of the United States — began with his own praises, for pardoning the other two, who suffered, he says, at the hands of “crazy people.”

From there, it was all downhill — Lahmeyer asked Trump for his specific prayer request, for all the viewers, and received in return a long silence, in which Trump could be heard to softly speak to someone else, seeming to complain of connection and audio issues.

When he returned, though, after almost two minutes, he knew who to blame:

“I think what happened is the radical left, the radical left was working on the phone, and there’s no question about it….I just wanna thank everybody for being on the line.”

Then he was gone again, leaving Stone to reiterate what he’d said previously before tech issues brought the video to an abrupt end.

He told his viewers that Tuesday as indictment day — as Trump had declared — was not a sure thing and that it might be later in the week instead.

He also assured his listeners that Democrats are planning to instigate violence and blame Trump for it.

“If you do choose to publicly protest it is vitally important that you keep your protests peaceful, civil, orderly, and completely legal. There are those on the radical left who would like to foment violence of some kind in the next week and then try to blame Donald Trump, the greatest president in my lifetime, for it. Do not under any circumstances step into that trap.”

The full 25-minute Pastors4Trump disaster can be seen below.

When the team was able to resume (before ending with further tech issues), they informed their audience that Trump had said not to pray for him, but for the nation, and blamed demons and YouTube’s (purported) biases for their video problems.

The second segment did include an appearance from Alveda King to tell listeners that Trump isn’t racist and that he’ll prevail, but much of this segment (viewable here) was devoted instead to right-wing grievances about de-platforming and “censorship,” plus a plug for a cancer conspiracy theory site.

Trump’s Pastors4Trump call starts at the 16:30 mark in the video below.
