FOLLY: Investigation into Orlando drag show has DeSantis looking like a fool

In December 2022, Floridaman Governor Ron “Tiny D” DeSantis filed a complaint against a venue that hosted a Christmas-themed drag show, mainly because he’s probably very, very closeted.

I mean, explain these boots if I’m not on the right path here, Henny.

“Reichtsag Ron” sent a small squad of undercover state agents to a drag performance at Orlando’s Plaza Live Theater out of pure FOMO to “document whether children were being exposed” to any “lewd acts” that would allow him to charge them with breaking Florida’s new “decency” law.

In a complaint issued in early February–which was after the undercover agents had written and filed their report–the state of Florida seeks to strip the small, nonprofit theater of its liquor license, which could put Plaza Live completely out of business.

Agents had described witnessing the ladies of that evening doing “the occasional hip thrust” (shades of Elvis on “Ed Sullivan” in the 1950s, get thee to a fainting couch!) in the presence of precisely the three minors in the room.

The queens sashayed through clever and campy Christmas-themed skits with slightly ribald names like “Screwdolph the Red-Nippled Man Deer” (CLUTCH THEM PEARLS RHONDA!), the agents wrote in their brief report.

Otherwise, the agents were forced to acknowledge that nothing “indecent” had happened on that stage.

But that didn’t stop Rhonda and the Florida State Department of Business and Professional Regulation from filing their complaint against the nonprofit that runs Plaza Live, claiming the venue had “illegally exposed children to sexual content.”

I guess none of them have ever been to a child beauty pageant, but Florida hypocrisy is its own extra special brand of awful, so, therefore, let’s drag Rhonda to filth for trying to silence the most beautiful and best people.
