SPIN CYCLE: Stormy Daniels TROLLS Trump's latest defense ploy

The latest piece of “evidence” of Donald Trump’s innocence being circulated by his fans on social media really only proves just how desperate the former president and his allies are to convince the public that he’s the victim of persecution. Stormy Daniels, as the subject of this particular trial and this document, is laughing in his proverbial face about exactly how ridiculous the MAGA defense is.

Donald Trump insists there is exculpatory evidence in the case — but then, he also insisted he was being arrested on Tuesday, and that turned out to be yet another false claim, used for fundraising purposes.

As proof that Trump is innocent, his allies are circulating old documents from Daniels and from Michael Cohen — although, of course, neither document is quite what is claimed.

For instance, there’s a signed statement from Daniels herself denying that she had an affair with Trump.

Not only does that fail to address the claims of the case (which is being investigated for potential financial criminality, not infidelity), it’s actually supporting evidence for the prosecution — since its the very document the adult film star was required to sign as part of the hush-money agreement.

Daniels laughed it off in a Twitter post, pointing out the irony, and explaining that the note isn’t new information — it’s even discussed in her book, and she’s addressed it in interviews.

“This is the statement Cohen wrote. It is old news from early 2018 before I came forward. I think it’s HYSTERICAL that tiny is trying to spin this as some kind of new information,” Daniels wrote.

It’s not all she finds hilarious — she’s been mocking the former president for days and recently sent new evidence to the grand jury convened for the case.

What she seems to find funniest, though, is just how desperate Trump is becoming, not necessarily to actually escape indictment (which some sources say he genuinely believes will help him in 2024) so much as to spin the facts of the story to portray himself as the victim.

He’s even warning in social media posts that “death and destruction” are the inevitable result if he’s prosecuted:

(Incidentally, he did not receive more votes than the current sitting president, despite what he likes to claim.)

As for displays of desperation, the Trumps are also promoting the (ridiculous) notion that another document disproves the allegations against the former president. It’s a statement from Michael Cohen, denying that the payments to Daniels are a campaign contribution.

That document is certainly evidence that Cohen denied culpability  — before he admitted otherwise, pled guilty, and headed to Federal prison for it. It’s not much of a defense once he retracted it and admitted guilt, though.

See Donald Trump Jr.’s wretched attempt to cover for his dad below.

Also, check out Daniels’ amusement. After testifying before the Grand Jury herself, she seems to have no concerns whatsoever that this document makes a difference in the case.
