WACKO WACO: Trump rally opening speakers scrape bottom of the barrel

If the “star-studded” line-up at Donald Trump’s rally in Waco, TX on Saturday indicates what to expect as he kicks his presidential campaign into gear, it’s safe to say that Republicans may not be into him.

As eager MAGA fanatics lined up, they were treated to the angry rantings of Ted Nugent, who was on hand to play the National Anthem, as well as the cringe-inducing jokes of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

“I want my money back,” Nugent screamed in condemnation of the United States providing aid to Ukraine – calling President Volodymyr Zelensky, a “homosexual weirdo.”

“Gimme my tax dollars back,” he yelled randomly after asking the crowd to remain silent in support of the January 6th insurrectionists.

“A moment of silence for the political prisoners in the gulags of Washington, D.C. because of jack-booted thugs in our own government.” – Nugent

Both Gaetz and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell called on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to publicly endorse Trump for President.

Rumored to be a frontrunner in the Republican primary for 2024, Trump and his allies have ramped up attacks on the authoritarian state leader.

“Trojan Horse Ron DeSantis,” Lindell told the crowd. “The best thing he could do would be to endorse Donald Trump tomorrow morning.

In rare form – dressed like a lounge singer – a red-jacketed Gaetz was a bit more spirited, waxing poetic about how former President Trump saved DeSantis and Sen. Ted Cruz’s 2018 campaigns.

“Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz should endorse Donald Trump for President,” Gaetz told the crowd, crediting the so-called “patriots of the MAGA movement” for the Senator and the Governor’s victories.

Of course, no Trump rally would be complete without homophobia, racism, and misogyny as Rep. Gaetz took shots at Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who he referred to as a “fake construction worker” and a “fake Indian.”

Shadow House Speaker Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) continued her anti-American fear-mongering.

Speaking to reporters for the right-wing media outlet, Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN), Green criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who she demanded to drop the investigation into Trump or “America is over as you know it.”

Greene accused the prosecutor of being “on the verge of breaking the law,” and persecuting an innocent man.

A vocal critic of mainstream Republicans, the congresswoman from Georgia gave the Freedom Caucus game away saying that “More America First Republicans need to be elected.

“We need to end that party completely,” Greene said of the party of Reagan.

Notably absent from the rally was Kari Lake — who recently won a CPAC straw poll as the MAGA favorite to be Trump’s 2024 running mate — and Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R).

The state’s Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, however, was eager to take credit for the rally being held on the 30th anniversary of the Branch Davidian siege that left nearly seven dozen people dead.

Patrick denied that Trump had anything to do with the decision to hold the rally in Waco on that dealy anniversary, which may actually be even worse.

As Rupert Murdoch uses his media conglomerate to publicly criticize and mock Trump – and big money donors move in DeSantis’ direction – the first crop of speakers in Waco is a reflection of what will hopefully be a steep decline — ending in a jail cell.
