CACOPHONY: Country music has-been jumps on the bigoted booze ban bandwagon
I can’t think of anything less “masculine” than openly admitting you’re threatened by the existence of drag queens and other members of the LGBTQ+ community, so much so that you want to ban things you may or may not be addicted to.
In fact, if you’re out there boycotting brands that have partnered with transgender influencers and drag queens, I’m going to assume you found them attractive as women before someone told you about their authentic truth and now you’re big mad.
How else to explain the extreme and extremely stupid MAGA overreaction to inclusive ads for beer and whiskey?
Kid Rock was so threatened by adorable Dylan Mulvaney inking herself a lucrative deal with Bud Light that he needed an AR-15 to prove how “manly” he is by (very badly) shooting up a few cases of the blue-collar brewskis.
However, an old photo of Kid from 2003 on stage drinking the very same beer with a drag queen named Wanda was making the Twitter rounds on Thursday, so either “Grandpa Bob” is pandering to his dwindling yokel base or he’s overcompensating for…something.
The transphobes got even more triggered when they learned that American whiskey brand Jack Daniels has partnered with the ultimate drag queen, RuPaul, for a new ad campaign.
But this isn’t the first time Jack and Ru have hung out, Henny.
In June 2021, the brand teamed up with three drag queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race for a series of promotional videos called “Drag Queen Summer Glamp,” to run during Pride month.
It features the participants completing challenges around the company’s Lynchburg, Tennessee, distillery.
Nobody complained too much then, but that was also before the GOP decided to scapegoat transgender Americans and drag queens because *checks notes* Donald Trump is in a lot of scary legal trouble.
It also matters that Jack Daniels supports drag, because their distillery is famously located in Lynchburg, Tennessee, the same state where it’s now illegal to perform in drag as their closeted queen Governor and creepy Lt. Gov want everyone to be as repressed as they are.
Leading the transphobic tantrums is Travis Tritt, who hasn’t charted a song since 2004, so I guess he has reasons for being a bitter old queen.
Tritt tweeted a lot of terrible transphobic trash and was getting dragged to utter filth on Thursday for his tasteless takes.

The moment @Travistritt @KidRock and conservatives decided to boycott Bud Light. Just because one can displayed Dylan Mulvaney's face. I went out and bought stock. These idiots always fuck up a boycott.
Friendly reminder Travis Tritt has a concert at Busch Light Stadium coming… pic.twitter.com/CO9bjLY6lB

Travis Tritt wants you to know that he’s boycotting Anheuser-Busch because they support the LBGTQIA community. pic.twitter.com/u4akQwysxt

We are going to be adding Anheiser-Busch products & Jack Daniels to our hospitality rider just to piss off a bunch of dimwitted bigots who fear what they don’t understand. I know a shit-ton of artists who feel exactly the same. (And we all drink A LOT) https://t.co/z94xPnobVi
