SLAINTE! Biden receives rock star welcome in Ireland

President Joe Biden is a true American patriot, but he’s also a Son of Ireland who looks forward to any trip back to the old sod.

The President’s ancestral Irish roots have been dug in since the mid-1800s when his great-great-grandfather Patrick Blewitt left County Mayo to seek a better life in America.

Unlike his predecessor, President Biden is warmly welcomed every time he travels abroad, but the reception he receives from the Irish is like nowhere else in the world.

And yes, I include the United States of America in that, unfortunately.

Joe Biden adores his job, and he loves his country and its people, yet that just isn’t mirrored back to him here like it was during his trip to Ireland last week.

The American President was greeted in Ireland with the kind of welcome we used to see more of on this side of the pond before Trump destroyed all the political norms.

It would also be helpful if the MSM would report more about how Joe Biden is the most successful Democratic President since LBJ.

The Biden administration once again just posted record-low unemployment rates, including the best employment numbers for Black Americans.

But most Americans haven’t heard enough about the good things Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been doing, because the MSM is still addicted to the MAGA-driven rage cycle.

As someone who’s been fortunate enough to cover President Biden twice during separate visits to Portland, Oregon, I’ve seen his effect on an audience.

I saw an energetic, optimistic man who would rather talk with everyone in the crowd all day than have to spend time talking about policies.

There are things a politician can fake, but no one can fake the genuine interest in other people that the President has.

He literally kissed a baby (with her dad’s permission) and was clearly besotted with her.

Find me a picture of Trump that radiates this kind of love.

Also, I got to ask him about getting ice cream, which his team made sure he got before heading back to the Portland Airport.

And he made eye contact with me and shook my hand and it was all I could do not to cry, because I love my President.

I mean, I’m not going to walk around wearing a Joe Biden flag wrapped around my body because I’m not in a cult. But still, it was a moment I’ll never forget.

Joe Biden knows his love for Ireland is mirrored back to him, and I’d like to see more of it rightfully happening here, too.
