PROFANE: Tucker Carlson is known for saying vile things, but for Fox, this may have been the worst

Tucker Carlson’s immediate termination set off tornadic speculation as to what propelled Fox News to fire their conspiracy theorist, Russophile, gold mine but it turns out, Fox ultimately fired him for the same reason it has fired many past employee-emperors.

Two factors weighed heavily on Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott’s decision: The E-Suiters did not like Carlson’s penchant for conspiracy theories, especially with respect to his allegation that the FBI played a role in instigating the January 6th insurrection.

Second, Carlson’s misogyny imperiled Fox at intolerable levels, especially his penchant for liberally using a word too ugly to appear in this story.

It begins with a “c” and applies to women, in Carlson’s case, the woman was Sidney Powell.

Yes, Fox’s executive officers were terrified and embarrassed by Carlson’s shameful and reckless reporting concerning the lie that Trump supporter Ray Epps instigated the insurrection as an FBI agent.

Embarrassing, but not quite enough to push Carlson over the top.

No, it took the meticulous work of searching through files during the Dominion voting machine case to find references to the vulgarity, perhaps the second-most hated word in the English language.

From a liberal’s view, the language and reckless mind that spat it out fittingly strengthened the looming lawsuit filed by Carlson’s former producer Abby Grossberg.

Grossberg alleges that Carlson created a work environment so toxic that sexism hung like aerosol, while also making disparaging remarks about Fox executives.

According to reports, Carlson might have sealed his fate in one sentence, concerning that one word, while being deposed in the Dominion lawsuit.

Dominion’s lawyers asked Carlson whether “this wasn’t the only time you referred to Sidney Powell as a “C***.”

Carlson’s answer pounded the biggest nail in his coffin, forever burying his dominating presence on cable television.

He answered, “You know I-I-I can’t know and I just want to apologize preemptively. I mean you’re trying to embarrass me, you’re definitely succeeding as I am embarrassed.”

Actually, no. Dominion’s lawyers couldn’t have cared less about Carlson’s humiliation, though it may have been considered a bonus.

Dominion’s lawyers wanted the truth as to whether he could believe the c… ,the woman he featured on his show as credible.

Insider reports cite the answer as “the key factor” in Carlson’s demise.

This is, of course, more than appropriate (and overdue) but also ironic.

People with diverse experiences have an endless list of words with which to describe Tucker Carlson… many might get one fired if used in the workplace.

So.

Goodbye, ass.
