COWARDLY: Ron DeSantis takes a swipe at Trump — but only behind closed doors

COWARDLY: Ron DeSantis takes a swipe at Trump — but only behind closed doors

Donald Trump’s top primary opponent is afraid to attack him publicly, but not in the privacy of his donors’ phones. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took his hardest shot at Trump yet in a phone call with donors and supporters by effectively calling him a loser, stating that Trump cannot win the presidency, but he can. He knew three reporters were listening too.

DeSantis all but announced his candidacy when he presumptuously said that there are only three credible candidates in the 2024 race, President Biden, Trump, and DeSantis, but only two have a chance to win, according to a new report in The New York Times, he coyly said:

“Biden and me.”

DeSantis said that based on the data that he sees from swing states, it isn’t “great” for Trump. And he’s not wrong because, as we all know, the GOP has lost every election since 2016 when Trump is on the ballot or his surrogates. The Florida governor’s complete remarks were:

“You have basically three people at this point that are credible in this whole thing, Biden, Trump and me. And I think of those three, two have a chance to get elected president — Biden and me, based on all the data in the swing states, which is not great for the former president and probably insurmountable because people aren’t going to change their view of him.”

Interesting.

DeSantis likely told the truth in saying people probably won’t change their minds about Trump.

Florida’s Republican governor touted his greatest quality, that he’s not Trump.

He recollected that a voter told him, “‘You know, Trump was somebody, we liked his policies but we didn’t like his values. And with you, we like your policies but also know that you share our values.’”

Fortunately for Democrats, President Biden is adept at pointing out that the “MAGA-party’s” values are their only policies.

Dark Brandon is also especially skilled at standing up for women’s abortion rights and against the GOP’s abortion ban politics.

Even more fortunately, the majority of Americans do NOT share DeSantis’s cruel and aggressive “values” or those of his horrifying primary opponent.

But the anti-woke governor already has the entry-level victimization lament down.

He told his donors that “The corporate media wants Trump to be the nominee.”

The complaint will bring about disbelief and surprise in the halls of Fox Corporation and their “News” division.

Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade learned how to play catch (for what looks like the first time) just to interview the former Yale baseball player because he wanted to give a “literal” softball interview.

DeSantis took a more subtle jab at the twice-impeached once-indicted (so far) ex-president when he bragged about all that he’d done to help the party and then said, “There are some that kind of raise money just for themselves.”

Unfortunately for Ronald Dion DeSantis, his planned announcement next week follows a gubernatorial globe-trot that most coverage considered to be a flop.

The announcement also follows a first-ever trip to Iowa that brought about one of the most awkward “presidential moments” since “please clap.” (see below)

It won’t be long before we see how DeSantis does eating deep-fried corn at the Iowa State Fair.

It is safe to say that Republican governor extremist has proven himself to be a bit “awkward” when around people he can’t furiously order around.

Ron DeSantis had better rapidly learn how to be both credible and relatable while eating that corn if he thinks that he and Biden are the only two with a chance to win in 2024.

Because as it stands, his biggest primary opponent is already his own self.
