RECEIPTS: The violent story behind Boebert's divorce just got out

Update: A recording of the Boebert family’s 911 call just emerged, and it is horrifying. We embedded the clip down below.

In a breaking story coming out of Colorado, there is a tinge of fear with lingering questions about violence raised by a 911 call from a scared son about an angry father and his intervening mother, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

It is easy and often fun to mock and criticize Rep. Boebert, who generated laughter when she requested privacy after filing for divorce.

Just this past weekend, her husband Jayson told the local news that “there’s nothing ugly going on” and blamed the media for the deterioration of his marriage.

Now we know why each of them spun the divorce filing differently.

And it’s more serious than anyone imagined.

The story begins last December with Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son (a minor whose name will be withheld in this story) calling 911 to report that his father, Jayson Boebert, had gotten physical.  Boebert’s son said Jayson Boebert was “throwing” him around the house.

And that he didn’t know why.

While officers were en route, the Boeberts’ son called back and said he didn’t need help. But before even completing the call, the Congresswoman jumped on the phone to say her son didn’t need help.

The story is disturbing enough.

Add the Boebert family’s love affair with guns to the mix, and the entire situation became a recipe for near-disaster.

It gets worse with the transcripts and sounds sadder—and more dangerous than it appears, even at first glance—according to The Insider’s exclusive reporting.

Rep. Boebert’s child called 911 at about 6:45 p.m. while sobbing and gasping for breath.

The 911 operator asked her son if he was in any physical danger.

“Yes, he was throwing me around,” the minor son said, trying to catch his breath.

“He called me a psycho when he’s the….” he added, as his voice trailed off.

The 911 operator said they would dispatch an officer immediately and then asked if there were weapons in the house.

This is not funny.

The answer is heartbreaking:

“I mean, there are weapons in the house, yeah, but I don’t think he’d use them on me,” said Lauren Boebert’s son. “He just does this to me so much.”

The boy was crying as he said it.

Where it gets odd and deeply concerning is that he moved on to tell the 911 operator:

“I’m in the driveway, but my mom’s staying down at the farmhouse because there’s problems with them. I’m going down there where he can’t get to me.”

We’re all aware that both heads of household in the Boebert family have lengthy rap sheets dating back to each’s time as a teenager.

The boy made it to the farmhouse safely, only to them call 911 back.

A woman could be heard yelling in the background (presumably Rep. Boebert) as the boy said: “All I wanted to say is me and my dad were starting to yell. He didn’t really get physical with me.”

That is as much of the story as the son got out before his famous mother grabbed the line:

“Hi, I’m the mom.”

“OK. There was an argument over dinner. I understand you guys got to come and talk to them.”

Boebert then noted that they were at our “second location” with her son, preparing for an event.

“Just to let you know, I have him. His dad’s at the house.”

For his part, Jayson Boebert admitted there was a verbal argument with his son and told him to go to the farmhouse to be with his mom.

That doesn’t exactly align with the portion of the phone call where the boy says he’s in the driveway and that he would go to the farmhouse, “where he can’t get to me.”

Of course, these are all allegations, and no part of policing is messier than domestic violence situations, especially involving teens… with a parent who is a politician.

For his part, Jayson Boebert said that he didn’t hurt the boy, but “maybe the door touched his butt on the way out.”

Maybe.

The officer – who had to be talking to the boy with Lauren Boebert at least nearby, logged in. That boy said, “he started yelling at his dad first, and his dad wasn’t physical.”

So now, after talking to Mom, the son tells the officer that he actually started it, and Dad did nothing?

We refuse to make any assumptions, but we’ll note that the story in the police logbook turned 180 degrees from the situation described by a crying boy who called 911.

It’s entirely reversed.

That crying boy, with troubled breathing, noted that his father wouldn’t use a weapon on him, but “He just does this to me so much.”

Oh, and after shouts of a woman yelling in the background… Mom comes on the line to say he’s fine.
