MESSENGER KILLERS: Why the GOP is beating up on Kevin McCarthy now
The extreme right faction of the House GOP is unhappy with the tentative debt ceiling agreement and is considering a motion to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
Members of the House Freedom Caucus (which actually wants to take away all of our freedoms) held a conference call on Monday night to discuss the impending vote to prevent a government shutdown.
The GOP was already threatening to “hold the U.S. economy hostage” over their collective Big Mads until Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s June 5th default deadline.
But now they’re pointing the collective finger right at “Weaker Speaker” McCarthy (R-CA via Trump’s alimentary canal) for allowing President Joe Biden to negotiate the bipartisan deal to include tax cuts while actually helping people.
Toward the end of the call, Rep. Ken “KKKen” Buck (R-CO) floated the idea of using the Motion to Vacate, a rule that allows any member of Congress to force a vote to remove the Weaker Speaker.
In fact, McCarthy himself agreed to that rule during his desperately craven and embarrassing negotiations while continuing to lose round after round of votes.
Two sources familiar with the call told NBC News that KKKen Buck referred to McCarthy’s spineless submission to Dark Brandon as the “elephant in the room.”
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA) responded to the idea by saying it “might be too early” for “such a drastic threat.”
Arizona Nazi dentist Rep. Paul Gosar — who loves himself a drastic threat — suggested using an open House rule that could stall the bill’s passage by simply threatening the Spineless Speaker with removal.
Gosar said it might force McCarthy to allow members to amend the bill on the House floor.
It’s hard to reconcile agreeing with the worst of the worst people. It’s an uncomfortable space for me to be in, but if our mutual hatred of Kevin McCarthy is what ultimately unites us, so be it.
