DODGY: Major golf tournament deals blow to Trump’s Scottish golf empire
The organization behind the British Open told Donald Trump after the January 6th Capitol riot that they would no longer hold their tournament at his Scottish property.
Despite Trump’s recent claims that “everybody” wants to see the prestigious golf event at his golf resort thanks to a recent makeover at Turnberry, event organizers remain a firm NAY two years later.
The British Open, also known as the Open Championship, has essentially blacklisted Trump
“We have no plans to stage any of our championships there in the foreseeable future,” the organizers told The Telegraph.
“We will not return until we are convinced that the focus will be on the championship, the players, and the course itself.”
The golf body made it clear Trump would “have to sell” the course “before anything changes” to make them return to Turnberry due to the perceived threat of potential protests.
Aside from the propensity for violence to follow him wherever he goes, there’s also Trump’s alignment with murderous Saudi leader Mohammed bin Salman and his shady LIV Golf Tournament.
That’s still only part of the reason why he’s so unwelcome on Scottish soil.
Locals had complained about Turnberry and Trump polluting their environment for years, with those complaints only growing louder as Grabby McGolfcart made those cosmetic changes he’s so eager to show off.
Trump really doesn’t care who or what he kills, as long as his golf greens are the greenest or whatever.
The Scottish people know this, and you have to admire the way they’ve let him know they know this.
Leave it to the country that made saying the “C’ word into an art form to make Trump feel as unwelcome as possible.
