NIGHTMARE: Marjorie Taylor Greene could be primaried by someone even more extreme

The Queen MAGA Representative from Georgia — Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene — is losing her sway with the far-right. So much so that they’re even calling for her to face a primary challenge.

Rep. Greene (R-GA) is beginning to be aware that her political career could be at risk, judging from a text message she sent to her ally Matt Gaetz.

In it, she insists that she’ll be fine, and defends her voting records, making it clear that she’s paying attention to the backlash she’d been receiving for becoming a staunch ally of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

This comes as she was forced to face criticism at a town hall in her district in Georgia. She responded to a veteran in the audience who shouted to tell her she was crazy, by thanking him as though he’d paid her a compliment.

It’s not just one man in Cobb County, either.

Steve Bannon, the former advisor to Donald Trump and one-time ardent admirer of Greene, is calling for her to face a primary challenge in her next election, and she shows her concern in the message to Gaetz. The Daily Beast reports:

“‘I have almost the same identical voting record as Thomas Massie, the most fiscally conservative member of Congress. And I voted with him on this bill,’ Greene wrote in the lengthy text, referring to the debt limit deal. ‘And Bannon, who was senior counsel to Trump in the WH and responsible for the first debt ceiling increase bc Bannon is reckless and no where near fiscally responsible, is now telling everyone I should be primaried.’”

She went on to boast of receiving a standing ovation at her town hall but didn’t address the criticism she was also given.

Check out the clip below, in which Greene is reading off praise of herself before an audience member gives her some direct feedback. (Story continues below tweet.)

It’s a sign that the far-right’s turn against Greene is becoming more mainstream within her party.

Bannon, along with others who opposed the debt ceiling deal, are angry at Greene for supporting it, among other things.

The extremist podcaster has called for Greene and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to be removed via primary challenges.

This follows others in the MAGA movement turning on Greene after she disavowed white supremacist Nick Fuentes, as well as annoyance at her for failing to produce the much-hyped footage from January 6th that she and others argued would be exculpatory.

It’s not looking great for her re-election unless sentiments shift before next November.
