LOL: How the Biden White House just humiliated Fox News

The Biden White House just humiliated Fox News so thoroughly that the conservative behemoth slunk away, afraid to print the “comment.”

It began so innocently.

Fox News thought it had an exclusive. It would do a story revealing that President Joe Biden is advancing in age!

The topic didn’t lend itself to just any “exclusive,” no — this turned into a 1,500-word deep dive, full of comments from conservatives and a couple of Democrats concerned that Biden’s age might hinder him in the 2024 election.

Insightful. Fresh. Nuanced. Hardly.

The genesis for the brilliant “get” was a gentle Biden tumble while giving the Commencement Address at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Biden didn’t have anyone holding his hand as he inched his way down from the podium, as Trump did.

Fox News pointed out that it was Biden who said, “Watch me,” when addressing yet another question regarding his age. Murdoch’s squad believed the tumble was something they were to “watch.”

As news organizations do, Fox News asked the White House for comment regarding the piece, which turned out to be such a bad idea that the venerable Right-Wing Website known for its fearless commitment to ethical journalism… refused to print the White House response.

Simply put, Dark Brandon’s team “owned” Fox News. The White House Communications staff replied:

“We take inspiration from the 92 year-old owner of Fox News, and send our best regards on your accurate coverage of extreme MAGA Freedom Caucus complaining that President Biden outsmarted them on the budget as he continued the unprecedented bipartisan winning streak that is central to the best legislative record in modern American history.”

Oh.

And the only part of the statement that is even debatable is whether the White House takes inspiration from the 92-year-old Murdoch.

The winning streak speaks for itself. Though Biden did say, “Watch me.”

Fox News did not take the response well and, almost childlike, asked for another one, a better one, one that “directly addressed the article’s thesis.”

These are people used to developing their own reality.

It is a wonder that they didn’t reply, “No! We mean a real one, where you get all defensive and mad at us and tell us he’s NOT old!”

After all, they are comfortable inventing good answers.

Dark Brandon’s team got darker when White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates replied:

“I go back and forth on whether these stories are born out of Fox News executives trying to send a signal to y’all’s 92 year-old chairman, or that 92 year-old chairman’s frustrations with the political successes of a younger man running an exponentially more complex operation,”

One can bet that the editors at this site are happy to point out that the two possibilities are not mutually exclusive.

Indeed, one can easily see one feeding directly into the other.

Having been so clearly “out-snarked,” Fox News didn’t print either reply, which is highly unusual, even for Murdoch’s group.

Then again, the original 1,500-word article was blown up in two paragraphs.

It would hardly do to print them!

So Rupert’s joint did what it does best, avoided the matter entirely.

Huffington Post notes, “The final paragraphs of the Fox News article do include a quote from Biden’s reelection campaign launch video, though not one that references his age or the story’s thesis.”

President Joe Biden just ate the Republican establishment for lunch over the debt ceiling “hostage,” and, in the midst of the victory, instructed people to “watch him.”

Fox News did watch him and thought they had Biden nailed.

They did a piercing piece that informed readers that President Biden is an older American. He even fell.

Well, the White House and its team came out looking awfully sharp and spry.

Wasn’t it one of Trump’s people who once said, “F#ck around and find out?”
