Trump cruelly mocks Romney after coronavirus scare with a sarcastic celebratory tweet
Donald Trump’s pettiness truly knows no bounds. As the country struggles through the coronavirus pandemic, with infections and deaths piling up and the economy hurtling towards disaster, the president is still making time to remind us all what a fundamentally small, cruel man he is.
Earlier today, Trump tweeted out a mocking message over the news that Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has tested negative for the coronavirus after fearing that he might have contracted it from being in close proximity to Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), who has tested positive.
“This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak,” Trump wrote, quote-tweeting a Breitbart News tweet about Romney’s negative testing. He went on to call the senator—who was not coincidentally the only Republican senator with the courage to vote in favor of impeaching Trump—a “terrible presidential candidate” and a “worse U.S. Senator” as well as a RINO (Republican In Name Only).
The obvious sarcasm was only exaggerated by Trump’s statement that he likes Romey “a lot,” something which anyone who has seen his frequent attacks on the senator knows is untrue.
