The leader of a national right-wing extremist group just got arrested by the FBI on the grave felony charge of seditious conspiracy.

Federal agents apprehended Stewart Rhodes III in Little Elm, Texas just outside of Dallas after the Department of Justice unsealed a major indictment against him and ten others for a conspiracy to stop the peaceful transfer of power in America.

In an exclusive video provided by Democratic Coalition senior advisor Sam Jones, law enforcement can be seen thoroughly searching the suburban home while helicopters hover overhead. (embedded below)

According to the DOJ, “the seditious conspiracy indictment alleges that, following the Nov. 3, 2020, presidential election, Rhodes conspired with his co-defendants and others to oppose by force the execution of the laws governing the transfer of presidential power by Jan. 20, 2021.” The Department continued:

Beginning in late December 2020, via encrypted and private communications applications, Rhodes and various co-conspirators coordinated and planned to travel to Washington, D.C., on or around Jan. 6, 2021, the date of the certification of the electoral college vote, the indictment alleges.

Rhodes and several co-conspirators made plans to bring weapons to the area to support the operation. The co-conspirators then traveled across the country to the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area in early January 2021.

The detailed indictment (link) illuminates how Rhodes began planning an uprising against the federal government almost immediately after the 2020 election. His group of Oath Keepers triumphantly celebrated their incursion into the Capitol where they tried to hunt down Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and failed. The following morning, they even conducted a pre-dawn reconnaissance mission of the Capitol the morning after a massive contingent of National Guardsmen secured the seat of government.

It’s still unclear why Rhodes, a resident of tiny Granbury, Tx. about 85 miles away was in Little Elm.

“There are three helicopters circling my hood,” wrote Jones who lives in the self-proclaimed ‘Town with the Lake Attitude’, “Which doesn’t sound strange to people from or in Washington, D.C., but in Little Elm, Texas that ain’t right.”

He went outside to find a “whole street of unmarked SUVs” and a marked vehicle from the Texas Department of Public Safety blocking the street for several hours while they searched the nondescript home where Rhodes was apprehended.
