DOUBLE TEAMING: Biden, Romney PUMMEL Trump on his lack of character

Donald Trump might be pandering to evangelical voters, but his fellow political figures aren’t blind to the truth.

Not many people would dare to declare themselves the candidate of Christianity and morality while hawking Bibles with special additions inside. Then again, most candidates wouldn’t declare that everyone on the political spectrum agreed Roe v. Wade should be overturned, or admit on the campaign trail that they’re in favor of women being punished for seeking healthcare.

Trump isn’t most candidates though, and President Joe Biden rarely misses an opportunity to remind voters how far off from the norm his opponent truly is. While speaking in Florida on Tuesday, he called out Trump’s anti-choice agenda.

He also mocked Trump’s special edition Bibles, which he’s partnered with Lee Greenwood to promote, and which also contain political documents including the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights. Biden joked:

“[Trump] said there has to be punishment for women exercising their reproductive freedom. He described the Dobbs decision as a miracle. Maybe it’s coming from that Bible he’s trying to sell. I almost wanted to buy one to see what the hell is in it.”

It was no “miracle,” Biden emphasized, but a deal Trump made with the evangelical base to overlook his moral and character flaws in exchange for him packing the bench with anti-choice Justices.

A longstanding and respected member of Trump’s own party, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT), had something similar to say about Trump’s character when addressing the hush money allegations connected to Trump’s felony charges for falsifying business records to cover up his election manipulation. He told CNN’s Manu Raju:

“I think everybody has made their own assessment of President Trump’s character, and so far as I know, you don’t pay someone $130,000 not to have sex with you.”

Trump has denied that he used hush money payments to cover up an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels and prevent it from affecting the 2016 election, claiming instead that she was lying and that he only paid her to make the story go away so his wife wouldn’t hear about it and he wouldn’t be embarrassed.

It doesn’t sound like Romney believes him.

Does anyone?
