SMALL-MINDED: Idaho Governor Little blocks kids under 18 from gender affirming care
This is a public service announcement to anyone who just can’t let anyone else live their lives:

Oh, wait…what’s that I hear coming across the border into Oregon from Idaho, some legalized transphobia as handed down by its Republican Governor?
Meet very tiny Brad Little, who is so threatened by the idea of transgender Idahoans having the right to live authentically, he’s now made it impossible for anyone under the age of 18 who wants to transition to get all of the gender-affirming care they need.
Little’s personal issues with the transgender community are going to lead to young people taking their lives, particularly Black trans kids, because they can’t afford to move to a real state which recognizes them as the full human beings they are.
Meanwhile, Little Brad looks like the love child of Lindsey and Billy Graham, plus $5 says he’s got a special hiding place for his dirty magazines that probably don’t feature women, is all I’ll allude to in these days of extreme MAGA snowflakes falling all around anything I write about them.
Every major medical organization, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychiatric Association, supports gender-affirming care for those under 18 seeking to transition.
Little Brad doesn’t care about any of that, of course. “In signing this bill, I recognize our society plays a role in protecting minors from surgeries or treatments that can irreversibly damage their healthy bodies,” he wrote in the bill’s transmittal letter.
Actually, society should just mind its own parts and let people have their own bodily autonomy without judgment or interference, but 2023.
“However, as policymakers, we should take great caution whenever we consider allowing the government to interfere with loving parents and their decisions about what is best for their children,” he continued without any self-awareness.
Little’s move sets Idaho up to compete directly with the other transphobic Red states like Tennessee and Florida, where other repressed MAGA freaks are making decisions for everyone based on their own biases.
Plus, the hate bill pairs nicely with Idaho’s recently passed “abortion trafficking” bill, which criminalizes anyone “abetting” a pregnant person seeking an abortion and also makes it illegal for a pregnant Idaho resident to travel to states where abortion is still legal.
