CALCULATING: Why Donald Trump wants to see a DEPRESSION this year

Trump

How do you deal with a presidential candidate like Donald Trump who wishes financial harm for Americans because it would help his chances in the election even though it hurts his voting base?

Trump revealed his motivation openly in a recent interview on Mike Lindell’s conspiracy network. He admitted that he’d like to see the economy crash while President Joe Biden is in office.

Trump’s own term ended on a sour note, with a global pandemic forcing extreme alterations in how people handled business and life. Hospitals overflowed, schools closed, and it all happened in an election year, so Trump has had an opportunity to witness up close how a crisis can affect voter support.

Now he wants a new financial crisis to hit voters before they head to the polls later this year, particularly since President Biden has overseen such a successful rejuvenation of the economy.

Trump has touted the economy during his administration, ironically lumping in the low gas prices that came about as COVID-19 brought the country to a standstill, as the reason he should be re-elected. Now he says (clip below):

“When there’s a crash I hope it’s gonna be during this next twelve months, because I don’t wanna be Herbert Hoover.”

Hoover was president during the beginning of the Great Depression.

Trump said in 2020 that if Biden was elected the economy would crash. With the end of Biden’s first term in sight, he’s now alternating between insisting that the economy is terrible and taking credit for it doing well. Less than two weeks ago, he posted on TruthSocial:

“THE ECONOMY IS TERRIBLE & INFLATION, WHICH BY SOME ACCOUNTS IS MORE THAN 30% OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS, HAS TOTALLY DESTROYED THE BUYING POWER OF THE CONSUMER.”

However, in the same interview with Lou Dobbs on LindellTV, he described the economy as “incredible” and took credit for it. He said (clip below):

“We have an economy that’s incredible. We have an economy that’s so fragile. And the only reason it’s running now is it’s running off the fumes of what we did, what the Trump Admin — it’s just running off the fumes.”

Trump’s allies took issue with the notion, presented by economists, that former President Barack Obama should be credited for a strong economy at the beginning of Trump’s term.

Below, Trump says he hopes the economy will crash during Biden’s first term.

Watch Donald Trump start speaking about the “incredible” economy under Biden, then take credit for it.

Hopefully, enough voters will realize that Trump is interested only in his own benefit — and couldn’t care less about what happens to the average American’s financial future — and reject his candidacy in droves.
