VIRGINIA IS FOR DEMENTIA: Trump’s 2nd Saturday rally raises FRESH concerns
After a bizarre and uncomfortable North Carolina rally, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump had an even harder time at his second rally of the day in Virginia.
Trump’s pronounced difficulties in expressing himself are becoming ever more glaring as he continues to claim it’s actually Joe Biden who is suffering cognitive decline. At his North Carolina rally on Saturday, Trump displayed a series of flubs, mix-ups, and stalled sentences, after which he headed to Virginia for a repeat performance.
Plenty of what Trump had to say in Virginia was his usual dangerous and alarming rhetoric. He attacked immigrants and claimed they bring diseases, used an obscene hand gesture as he speculated about a prosecutor’s sex life, and promised to “take over” D.C.
He also boasted about being complimented by the leader of the Taliban — who called him “your highness” to Trump’s delight — and made references to the “perfect phone call(s)” that helped earn him two impeachments and a set of felony charges.
However, he also packed the event with another kind of concerning statement: the kind that’s concerning because the speech itself is incomprehensible and because it’s coming from a man who tragically has an actual shot at leading the country.
He mixed up President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden again, declaring that Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin is threatening nuclear attacks because of his lack of respect for Obama. He also repeated his standard explanation for the mix-up, claiming that he’s switching names on purpose because the individuals are interchangeable.
(His mix-ups aren’t limited to Obama/Biden and Nancy Pelosi/Nikki Haley — he’s also mixed up foreign leaders, who may not appreciate the sentiment if they believe he’s doing it on purpose.)
Trump struggled with getting sentences out at times, seeming to omit the word “state,” as he declared, “I’m thrilled to be back in the beautiful of Virginia,” for instance, and seemed to substitute the word “pupils” for “people” as he complained about immigrants speaking languages he’s never heard of (that he claims no one has ever heard of).
He also seemed unusually sweaty as he delivered his highly-tossed word salad.
It took Trump two tries to get out the phrase “the Biden border bill would,” as he stumbled over “bill,” but at another point in the speech, he mixed up the words “poll” and “bill,” and referred to “the Harvard Harris bill….we’re leading Crooked Joe by 6 points.”
His obsession with airports and airline service emerged, though Trump has a private plane and does not fly commercial. Nonetheless, he ranted about “dirty, crowded” airports, where he claims that one sits for hours only to be told the plane won’t be leaving after all.
Perhaps most bizarre, Trump went an another side rant in which he informed the crowd that while he’d like them to get out and be heard in the primaries, “we don’t need your vote.”
Virginia holds primaries on Tuesday March 5th, so we’ll soon have an idea of whether his supporters took the former president at his word.

Trump boasts about the power of a “properly placed phone call” — perhaps like the one to Ukraine that earned him an impeachment after he attempted to hold up aid while pressuring officials into a false investigation of Joe Biden, or the one to Georgia to ask the Secretary of State to “find” extra votes for him.

Trump pumps his fist to imply that prosecutor Nathan Wade has experience only in sex, not in litigation. (Wade has decades of experience and accomplishments, including serving as a judge.)

It’s hard to believe that anyone could seriously consider this man is capable of any position of power at this point — much less the most powerful job in the nation — given the deterioration of his mental faculties.
